Recently got my car back from the paint shop. Had the dark bluish-grey metallic racing stripes painted on under the clearcoat. Then I added the orange stripes in normal pinstriping tape in case I ever decide to sell the car and the new owner didn't like them. Added Bat's Overlays to the headlights. 3/10 tint, and have some more in the mail for the foglight lenses. I photoshopped this up beforehand, so I knew what it would look like. I love it! I wish that I could lower the car, but speedbumps are abound here and I scrape over a few of them as it is.

All opinions are welcome. I know some peeps won't like it and that's cool, but I wanted to show it off a bit anyhow. :)

I actually like the orange stripes on the outside of the gray stripes. I even like the wheels when you did them, but the summation of all the different stripes is starting to be too much in my opinion. Your car is starting to remind me of paint scheme from a 70's powerboat or 70's conversion van.

I recommend taking off the orange stripes above the side sills. The thickness of those stripes doesn't blend in with the other accent stripes.

Like ViperJohn, I really like the orange pinstripes accenting the gray stripes and the wheels. But the stripes above the sills are too much and take away from the elegance of the car. This is, of course my opinion. You liking the car is really what counts.

I agree about the orange stripes on the side. Had the same thing back on my '72 Chevelle...in '72.

LOVE the gray and orange combo and the wheels. Original and sharp.

I hear you guys. People aren't used to seeing the stripes on the sides, but I was thinking about the Ford GT's stripes when I came up with them.

The thing that bugs me about removing the side stripes is that there is an orange lip on the outside of the rims. And when you see the profile of the car, you can't see the racing stripes and there is nothing to tie in the orange. I'll photoshop out the stripes on the side though, and see what it looks like.

I was good with the Top Picture of the Hood.
Then I saw the wheels and thought, "that might be pushing it"
Then I saw the side and confirmed it.

Black stripes look GREAT! :2tu:

A bit too much for me overall though.

i love the gray stripes with the orange
i love what you did with the wheels and how they match

if it were my car, i would lose the side sill stripes

consider going black on the gas cap and the center caps. then you will have only Orange, Red, Black, will look more sharp to the eye imo

Photoshopped the same picture without the side stripes. Still looks good. Looks a little tame though! hehehe

It looks totally different than anything I have seen. Totally original which I respect more than anything you could have copied. So I say..... :2tu: :2tu: :2tu:

I really like the stripe on stripe, but I agree the side sill stripes are too wide and are bordering on excessive. Very cool to see someone stepping outside the box though!! Congrats!

As the FGT, if you like the side stripe, I would take the same Color/Proportion of your center stripe, just an idea.
You car is original and perhaps "busy" for some folks, but still tastefull :2tu:
I forgot, you may want to powder coat the gas cap, it would finish the car nicely.

I would ditch all the orange stuff.... but the stripes look great. This is the first I've seen of Bat's smoke headlight overlays. Those look awesome - and complement your stripes.

Beautiful car, takes ballz to be different, congrats. I'd love to see a photoshop with the door sill the same color as the new stripe, but make sure top outer edge has a light line so it is visible as the lighter edge. I wonder what that would look like. I'd try it but I photoshop exactly as well as I sing (and dance).. LOL Thanks

I would loose the side stripes for sure. The rest can stay. I'm not a fan of the striping on the wheels either but thats personal preference. Just PLEASE dont put one of those Gawd awful wings on. Yuck..lol

I'm with the majority here that I love everything about the car except for the stripes above the sills. One other thing that I would have done differently is I would have keep a chrome edge on the wheels rather than all black. But I love those black stripes on a red car.

hey I like that you went 'out of the box' yet it's CLOSE to what most Viper drivers do with the stripe.... AND it's easily changeable if you didn't like it.

thumbs up from me

I'd lose the headlight tint. Anything that takes away from seeing the road ahead, especially at night, is a bad thing. I never understood why people would want to hinder visibility. .02

And when you see the profile of the car, you can't see

But the GT doesn't have ground effects to off-set the
stripes, the viper has sills - makes it way too cluttered.
On the plus side only 5yo's are short enough to see the
true viper profile up-close and I doubt they'll be critical
of the colour scheme. Everyone else will be too tall and
see the combo on the hood to tie it in. Like it was said
above - its not a conversion van so you can get the full
effect rather easily.

I really like the the triple-colour on the hood and the
headlight tint (which I don't approve of either in a safety
aspect) and black wheels makes the car truely unique.

ps - get the black MGW gas cap too - that chrome job really
sticks out against the new scheme.

I agree with the majority also. I really like the orange everywhere exept the ones above the side sills. Beautiful car by the way.

I like the stripes on the hood and wheels. Someone try the PhotoShop with the Blue-gray stripes on the side. He likes the Ford GT stripes but they're white top and sides. That might be the key?? Looks great though. My Red GTS looks plain Jane to this one!!! :2tu:

Very good point. I think you're right on. Thanks so much for the insight.

I agree, side sills actually take away from the look and make the car go from custom to gawdy.

What about orange pinstripes on the inside edge of the new racing stripes?

Lose the orange stripes on the side. I like the orange on the wheels, but I think the whole car would look better if you simply added a chrome lip to the wheels and deleted all of the orange.

Love the stripe color, though. Very nice job.
