I have the opportunity to buy a Rodolphe SRT10 Red Watch.
The watch is really a master piece.
I need a feed back on this watch.

I know that price was around $4000.
What does it worth today ?
The seller discounts me for $3000.

Is it really good quality ?

I saw one in Diamond Genesis in St. Barth during my honeymoon last December. They wanted $4k USD for it. I would have bought it if it would have been black (it was red).

They are very nice. Here's some info and pics...

Rodolphe Viper Chronograph

Rodolphe of Switzerland (he has no last name) is a graduate of the La Chaux-de-Fonds Applied School of Arts in Le Corbusier, where he studied jewelry and architectural design. He began his horological career in 1980 at Omega, then Tissot, where he earned accolades for his designs for the "Admiral" and "Grand Classique" lines. His next association was with Longines where he introduced the distinctive "Winged Hourglass" collection.

In 1989, while still associated with Longines, Rodolphe started Rodolphe & Co to focus on his own unique approach to design.

The Breil collection he created for Italy was a financial success as well. Sales quickly rose from 15,000 units to 700,000 units and Rodolphe became number one in Italy.

He also designed watches for fashion icon Nino Cerruti, as well as for well-known brands Esprit and Caterpillar. More than 7 million watches designed by Rodolphe of Switzerland are sold throughout the world each year.

His latest is the Viper chronograph. Featuring an automatic movement, caliber Dubois-Depraz 7000 with 47 jewels, the Viper watch comes in a limited edition in gold or standard edition in steel.

The limited edition version of 500 pieces, in 18kt yellow gold, features front and back sapphire crystals and is water resistant to 30 meters. MSRP is $6,875.

The stainless steel version is available with bracelet for $4,175 and with leather strap for $3,775.

Watches become collectables and can be investments after a period of time or the right designer.

I don't think this watch will make that catagory, so I think if you purchase on it will be for want and just parting with money.

I like the watch, but not at its price or for resale value.

Wow! They are really nice- especially the stainess with black and red faces. It may just be collectible some day, if you have the disposable $$ do it... they are very sporty.

Just need the Viper hat, shirt, shorts, socks and shoes to go with it and look like that idiot you see in the photo wearing all the Ferrari gear. For $4k I think there are plenty of other watches that *will* be collectibles or at least hold their value out there other than this one.

I just bought watch #322.
I will post pictures later.

It makes a really connexion between me and my Viper when we are not together.
Makes me feel all the time that I own a 750hp beast at home.

I'll spend the money at the track to feel connected.

Ticky Tacky if you ask me. Rolex sub, its timeless

Tacky? Nah..It's a sports watch, not a dress watch, I agree it would look pretty silly with the Viper jacket, hat, etc. But alone it is nice. The Rolex Submariner is the perfect all round watch ...and you can beat the hell out of it and it just lasts forever.. looses time though.

I don't consider myself a collector, but I've always loved watches and have a small collection over the years from classic Longines to Rolex.

I got to see and wear a Rodolophe in Vegas. I thought it was a pretty nice piece and considered buying one. One of my fellow club members thought it was gawdy as hell.

I also have a wing on my car and he hates them. All a matter of individual tastes..

The watch has a racing stripe and a Gen III logo. Your Gen II Viper has neither. It posted on the Alley. It feels rejected.

For what it's worth, Rodolphe is one of the current crop of "hot" swiss watch designers....

Only time will tell! :D But, there are alot of watch designers and we the people are the ones that ultimately decide if something has value and after many years if it will be collectable. History is not in his favor.

Rolex and Tag Heuer both support automobile racing....does Rodolphe sponsor anyone? I wanted a nice watch and I bought based on the classic design of the watch and the fact that the companies I considered supported auto racing.

I bought a Tag Heuer...very happy with it and happy with the support the company gives in sponsorships.

Just another way to look at the watch debate....and my 2 cents.
