The first one is plastic.
The second one isn't as big as the goliath sized ones usually found but it is still too big.

Contact Joe. He built me a nice one. Still not as small as I'd like but very, very nice.

E-bay, I drilled the inlets larger and fitted a petcock in the bottom of it.
Chromed aluminium, I think it was $9.95 plus 15 bucks shipping...
Looks like they are now 38 bucks? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universal...1QQcmdZViewItem

I did not see any reason to pay 75 bucks for a puke can. Afterall, it will be filled with oilpuke...

Don't get the Jaz can. I had it and it didn't work very well. For the amount of pressure and CFM a Viper flows it kept blowing oil out of the breather. I ended up with something similar to what 1Tony1 suggested.

However I removed the catch can all together when I put the valve cover baffles back in. Now all I have is a breather attached to the valve cover outlet via 90 deg PCV valve and I get a tiny amount of oil which I just wipe up once in a while.

Gotta disagree with you Simms, that Moroso can is pretty much a standard size and could double for a dry sump and the air filter could supply a Holley 650. Ok, I'm exaggerating to make my point.

I really wonder why they make them so big. Too me, space is a premium under the hood, I would especially think it would be for the F/I guys.

I think I'll start building and marketing my own breather can.

 LOL, I guess I couldn't get the sarcasm through my post. I don't know why they make them that size either, but like you said, its the standard.

LOL You should have heard what my initial response was. Thankfully I didn't hit the "send" button.

I'm an old drag racer. I stepped up from a coke can to a small paint can with a lid and two fittings. It fits down by the computer on the drivers side. I ty-wrap it to the ground cable. Works great and is neatly out of site.

viper baz uk,
That is one of my cans. I make them for a variety of applications and can do them in multiple powdercoat colors. I get $130.00 complete with all the mounting hardware and valve cover vent lines. Give me a buzz or send me a PM if you would like any further info.
Thanks,
Joe

I have the same one as Simms. It's a tad big, but it works. a -12 line going in is pretty stout. I'd prefer a smaller one, but again , this one works for now.

PBJ's piece is quite cool. If i were re-doing it now, i'd go with that one.

8" tall, about 2,5" wide and 3" deep.

Like said the inlets were too small, so I just got some regular plumbing fittings and drilled them larger. Same thing with the bottom valve, It's brass, somekind of water valve, or whatever it is.. There is a hose connected to it and I drilled a hole for the hose into the spoiler. This way it can drain the oil/water out in seconds, anywhere...

I have the same one as does Simms in the same location. It's not too big at all. What else would you put there?
