I have a 2001 Gts (Creampuff) without having to change pistons, which supercharger will give me more RWHP? Roe 5 to 6.5lb boost, Paxton is something like 8lb? Need help making a decision, I hear a paxton is better for hook up because of some sort of lag, and the Roe is instant power. Any truth to that?

I'm going for the ROE for build quality and support. I've heard from a couple of reputable sources that the build quality of the Paxton doesn't even come close to the ROE.

I too have a 2001 GTS. I'm going with the 5 pounder so I don't have to use the water/**** injection. A little less horses, but plenty enough for me. Ordering one from Tony (1TONY1).

Roe guys will say Roe is the best and Paxton guys will say Paxton is the best. Both are great systems, no doubt about it and Sean's support is second to none. The reason I like the Paxton's better is because they come with an intercooler and it's own fuel delivery system, Roe's do not. You cannot go wrong with either one.

Don't take this as one vs the other, but correct me if I'm wrong:

A Roe comes with fuel rails, injectors and braided lines from the firewall forward. A paxton comes with remote pumps and what else ?

I bet a side by side race of Roe v.s Paxton (assuming 8lbs on both and W/M injection on the Roe vs. intercooler on the paxton), Roe wins. Not by much mind you, but I believe the Roe would have more TRQ off the line and under the curve than the Paxton. Paxton will make more power on the top end. They'll get the high numbers in regards to HP.

Tony (1TONY1) was a good choice for the roe !!!

and what 99 R/T 10 said.

i still want to see 1TONY1 drive 2 cars on the same track on the same day. 1- roe completely stock and 1- paxton completely stock to end all of these debates.

Greg...

1. Who is doing the install?
2. Who is doing the tuning?

Thanks,

If this counts for anything, the difference is probably minimal either way, and obviously the tuner/ installer has a lot to do with the results. But hands down, opening the hood and seeing a polished, or powdecoated Roe is by far more impressive than the look of the Paxton. So if the difference is minimal, why not go for Roe? you can always change the pulley upward if you need more power...

I know where to buy the Roe, but who sells the Paxton?

The lowest price for the Paxton kit online that I have found are from:

http://www.superchargersonline.com/
http://www.superchargers4less.com/

You'll need to call and request a quote. It's been a couple months since I spoke with them, but IIRC the price was approximately $6200.00. I've heard that the kits may have had a recent price increase, though.

I haven't purchased from either company, so I can't comment on the customer service, delivery time etc...

Hey

I was told by a very well known viper tech that the roe was better then the paxton especially in regards to relibility also that you can convert back to stock with the roe with no damage (drill holes etc etc)to you engine.

I am, not down playing the paxton by any means, i am simply saying i don't feel the 2 can compare in the looks category...AJT...your pic looks great, but it is also a close up, i would love to compare your pic to say a pic like McCarlin's underhood shot showing the entire engine bay....thats all i am saying, i am not trying to make any enemies, it is just that the Roe takes up the majority of the engine bay where the Paxton is just up front...so it has more opportunity to look more exciting...thats all....All you guys with Paxtons's have more than i do at the moment! I love them all..so please i hope i am not taken in the wrong way!

No offense here, Looks are a personal preference. I did it for the power, not looks. 857rwhp, 799 rwtq. I couldn't get that out of a Roe.

I looked at both when I had mine done, Some people loved their roes, but a few people I talked to couldn't ever get their car to run right.

There is a guy named John here in Houston that took his roe off & went TT after continued problems. He has it for sale if someone is looking. I think if you live near a tuner that is familar with them then they can be tuned correctly then you would be OK.

Wow those are VERY impressive #'s Andy...You obviously have that thing tuned amazing...the fact that you have more HP than Torque is great. Yes I am about 20 minutes from the Wizard (lucky me), and i know he has done a lot of the Roe's and everyone he has done them for seem to be pretty happy, I do want more power, but I also want more for a show piece, and the novelty in all honesty. If I could pull the same power as the 08 Viper coming out, i would be very happy....

You are real lucky to live near the wizard. I met him at VOI8, great guy! I bought my warranty thru him.

There is noone here in Houston...

I had to send mine to Florida (DLM).

We have 1 viper tech in Houston & its at a crappy dealership.

TNT- gone
Hen e s s ey- Wouldn't leave my bicycle with him.
RSI- Pretty pricey & heard they were shutting down.

Almost makes me want to move..

Sorry its taken so long to reply, I am in Singapore On business will be back in the world on the 3rd. I have one Viper tech in Wa. Cam McCracken of Maltby Motorsports, He has only done Roe never a Paxton. He also has steered me away from buying a used Roe ( I spent all my money on the Car) Because of tuning issues. I thought you could just call Roe and get a new VEC Card?

Steering you away from buying a used Roe is NOT a VEC or tuning issue.

It may be a supportable observation from a man who appears to want you start fresh and get it right the first time. That is NOT to suggest that one cannot get a PERFECTLY great USED Roe, it IS a recommendation that can help you avoid a degree of "unknown" risk and provide you with a more direct Sean Roe relationship.

Go Roe, go 5 lbs. and have fun. If any of us ca help, let us know.

Let us know what you do.
