I just had my cats removed and put o2 simms on but now the engine feels like it starts to stall and then surges all of a sudden while driving and i can really smell the fuel. Does anyone have an answer to why it would be doing this.

Thanks
Phil

my guess is the computer needs to learn the change and you're gonna smell fuel from now on i think

Phil,

Nothing for the computer to learn....it thinks all is ok.....if your simms are working right. What Crom said....

2000 gts, the simms are brand new out of box. I notice that there is sensors towards the front and back of the exhaust. I put the simms on the front senors connectors

:nono: :omg: :eek::poke:

That is your problem. Im assuming you put them in place of your Primary 02 sensors at the front of the car near the header collector, bad bad bad bad!! Hook your primary 02s back up and use the simulators to replace your secondary 02 sensors!!!!!!

Switch the simulators to the rear 02 sensors and you should be better than new!

HA HA.. I was reading this and wondering what could have gone wrong and then you posted the sims location. I was about to call you but saw you got it figured out. I trust you are not driving the Viper in the rain?????????? LOL.. so how do you like it? Is it as loud as mine or did you leave the stock exhaust? We'll have to go beat up on that Lambo this weekend..he he. Talk to you tomorrow.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That is way too funny. I'll bet you were freaking out wondering what the heck was wrong with the car. I know I would be if I didn't know the sims go in the rear.

A couple other things to note: gas goes in the gas tank, oil in the engine, and coolant in the radiator ;)

I am just poking fun man! I know it was an honest mistake, and fortunately a mistake that wasn't a damaging one. You may have decreased the life of the front O2s now though, depending on how long you ran the car with the sims in the wrong place, that unburned fuel can contaminate the O2s.

In the future, don't hesitate to post questions on here if you're not sure about something. I'd rather you ask a stupid question to confirm something than not and end up with a blown motor. O2 sims, no big deal, but next time could be worse.

Ya removing the O2 sensors will really reduce the life of them
What was it you were saying about gas in the gas tank :lmao:

As for lenght of time i was driving it was only about 10 minutes, just enough time to go from the repair shop to home. So i dont think any damage would be done:lmao: , the engine only started to run weird just as i was arriving home.

I knew something was up, people were always looking a me funny when i lift the hood and unscrewed the cap on the valve cover and inserted the gas nozzel in it, dam it went in slow, could only put about 10 liters of gas in the dam engine:dunno: but man when she fired up it was a hell of a rumble, made everyone run.

Hey Lethal,
It's very hard to even get out for a cruise, I own a restaurant, it takes up most of my time.
My Viper is Black on Black.
I hear in winnipeg there is a pretty good gather of cars on Sundays, i forget what ave it is on, but suppose to be big.
The wife and i planning to go east sometime and see some more of this beautiful country of ours. Maybe we could meet up then. Or maybe we could slip over on a Sunday for one of those cruise nights.:2tu:

Thats Freaking Hillarious!!! :naughty: You should try pumping 93 Octane into your brake lines.. Go hit the track and you could look like Nicolas Cage on the cover of Ghost Rider but in a Viper:eyecrazy:

Hey you two gappers, when you coming to Winnipeg?
Zzapper, what color is your GTS?

Hey Tracy. Long time no see. Man time flies. I'm thinking you need to head west. Going east *****..LOL.. Plus I think I started a trend. There's more damn Vipers here now than you can shake a stick at..ha ha.. Since I got mine there's been 3 more added to little old Regina and I have another buddy looking to buy one. He's shopping in the US right now. We could have our own Viper rally. ha ha
