Have you checked the classifieds? I have my 93 listed for $35k with chrome 3 spokes and an extra set of 97 5 spokes. Softtop and the 3 piece trunktop. It's in great shape and has had the head gaskets replaced. PM me if you want any additional pictures or have any questions. I love this car and in the end may be fortunate enough to keep it along with my SRT that I am rebuilding.

I sent you a email though the classifeds, never heard back, is the car still for sale?

I have a '92 that I might sale. It just doesn't get driven as much as it should. Besides the radio it's all stock numbers matching motor and trans. Never been wrecked or repainted. Runs and drives great with the head gasket issue fixed (that's a big one for the Gen 1s). This is one of the very early '92s with a serial numbered hood. 92's are very cool becuase they have so many hand built one off parts. The hoods have serial numbers, the headlights are a one year only (that's one easy way to tell if a 92 has had front end damage if it has 93 to 02 headlights), one year only exhaust manifold.... and so on. They truely are a special car.

IF I sell, again the thought haas crossed my mind but I haven't put it up for sale, the price would be very fair and around 30K. The car is not perfect (none of the 92's are), but would make a great vehicle for someone and you'll never lose money on it. I don't think you'll find any clean 92's going for much less. The miles are 69K. Drives like half that.

PM or email me for more info.

Well why don't you tell us where you are located.. and then what radius of miles you are willing to travel.... folks keep throwing vehicles out there and your response always seems to be... "too far".

Where in the world are you?!

So here's my take on it. Lagalaxy is very early on in the process of trying to justify getting a Viper - if he's for real. Either it's a cash issue, a wifey issue, deciding what color issue, or whatever. No problem - I looked for over two years before picking mine up. I would not have posted that I was looking for a Viper until I was really ready to buy though.

So here's a little tease to show you what it feels like to be behind the wheel. All I can say is there's nothing like a VIPER SMILE!

The first post said I live in Ohio.

Most of the cars people are posting are on the West Coast. I have 2 days max to travel to look at a car. I've already went and looked at a few cars. 2 of them "were in great shape & etc" from there owners. Got there and they looked like they where drove though a woods. Pics can be very deceiving. I would have one shipped if I knew the car was right to begin with. But hard to give someone $3x,*** for a car and I'm not happy with it.

Here's my take on it, like you said it took you two years to find your car, I was hoping to have a car in my driveway 2 months ago, but as it turns out I've found out this is not a decision that you jump into uninformed. So what is the big deal that I'm still looking for a car? I've seen cars in person, Talked to them on the phone, email etc. I'm ready to buy that is why I put up the post, thought someone on here might know of a nice car for sale. Everything is in line I'm just waiting for the right car. Can you tell me what is wrong with that?
I know what if feels like behind a wheel of a VIPER drove 6 hours to look at one Sat. Took the car out for a drive and the whole damn car shook like I was in a wind storm. I was going 45 mph. Turns out the owner was not very upfront about the problems with the car. If the car would have been what it was advertised I would have a post up saying check out my new VIPER!!!:2tu:

I did the same thing when looking for mine 7 years ago. Not many nice ones out there. Like I said, I want a little more for mine, but good luck finding a real nice gen 1. Been there, done that.

Some words of wisdom...

You can find a nice car if you are an informed buyer anywhere. This option has a higher risk of taking a while to shop for. So...

Use the VCA to help you. The networking aspect alone will yeild you finding a better car in a quicker timeframe, not too mention the references on that car. I bought mine through the VCA classifieds and it was better than I thought it would be. Once again...references are key in my opinion. If I were to sell my Gen 1, I could very easily provide 50 references that could speak about the car. That is how I buy...references from other VCA folks who have a reputation to uphold and care about the current and future life of the car. Just my 2 cents.

The car I looked at last SAT was a VCA member. The car was not what was expected. I'm going to look at another one this weekend from a VCA member, and he has seemed to be very upfront with me about the car. I've also been contacted & have met another VCA member and he was great enough to show me his car and take me for a ride in his. Also has offered to help me in anyway he can to get the right car.

I put up a post to see if someone can look at a car for me in Florida.
Also have a offer from the guy, that I looked at his car this past weekend. He said he'd go look at any cars near him for me.

I'm bringing this back to life. You might be asking why it's over a year old.
Wel1 a quick back story.

About the time this topic quit, my dad was killed in a motorcycle accident. Some ***** wasn't paying attention and ended a great mans life & ruined a family. Anyways the details aside I've been dealing with many things since then and now is the right time to retrack this quest. I had started another topic a few days ago about possiable "newer" Vipers ,but the Gen 1 is my first love like most of us. Anyways if you know of a super nice Viper for sale let me know. Thanks again for your time.

Bought a Viper Off Ebay last October from a Dealer. I live in Toledo, OH. Had them ship the car. The company they used to ship the car were very respectful. Car came in just as pictured. Almost a year for me now and loving it. I bought a 1994 Red RT/10 with 8000 miles on it, and paid around 36K. I listed the website for the Dealer I got the car from. I did check, and they did not have any Red RT/10's that I see at the moment. May want to call them and tell them what you are looking for, and maybe able to help you. The shipping cost was around $700 and well worth the price! It was shipped in a covered trailer. Let me know if you have any other questions, just PM me.

I am sorry to hear about your dad.

I sent you info on my red 94 RT/10 back when you did the original post. I do not have the car actively for sale, but would still part with it for the right price. Car has A/C. softtop, soft windows, Mopar Hardtop, Northwind hard sliding windows and cover. All original except smooth tubes and filters and I have the originals. Car in immaculate condition and has the red "Sneaky Pete" logo floor and trunk mats. I have owned this car for 8 years. This is a Florida only car without any undercarriage rust or corrosion.

I just bought a 96 B/W GTS and really like both cars. The GTS has it's strong points, but there is also something to be said for driving and open topped car. I just went to the VCA meet in Daytona two weeks ago and there were 25 cars and only two Gen 1's.

Please PM me if you are still interested. Having both in my garage is nice, I have to say.
