I have a customer who requested a gen 1 hood with 08 hood features. Here it is in rough form but you get the idea. My question is, do you guys think this is worth my investment to tool up and build these after this is finished? I'm not sure how many of these would sell so I'm testing the waters.

Thanks for the input.

Jeff

NICE!!! as always i am guessing that you will sell at least a few especially to people who need replacement hoods at a more reasonable price and a few to people who want a modded/custom look

I actually am looking for a new hood for my 1996 RT/10 Gen I that I need to keep the temp ALOT cooler. I'll also be racing it alot an am expecting it to get damaged, so I need it light and fixable ...haha

Hey Jeff... one more thing. I'm not sure if this might help ya or not, but if you're looking to put any grills into the side vents at all, the shape and the size look REAL close to the 98-02 Firebird WS6 ram-air hood vents. I think the hood looks great with the vents open, but thing might be another option for ya if you ever wanted to offer it with some nice factory molded grills. Not trying to step on your toes at all... just figured it might bhe something fun to check out. I build alot of replacement hoods for the late model firebirds and the ports look like those grills might work in them.

Thanks for the nice comments and the helpful info. I have no intention of taking your crown as the current most popular aftermarket hood! Your work is very impressive.

Anyhow, I do intend on putting grills in like our SRT hood and would like to have a nice factory molded type.

Looks great. Personaly I would like to see the center buldge 2 inches higher so it appears there is a massive motor inside. I would be interested for this on a GenII GTS. Which needs the fresh air port too. I like the louver design. With the factor design there is no way to get the heat out of the motor compartment fast enough. Most of the heat from the engine compartment goes under the car making the floor boards hot. Let me know of your future plans and the costs. I may be interested in one.

Ka-ching! You just hit the jackpot.

I think it's a fantastic idea. The Gen I hood is a little bland when compared to the Gen II/III/IV. Just the fact that those annoying hood speakers have been deleted is a winner.

That would definitely help with underhood temps. Will the bulge allow some more clearance on top of the engine? Roe intercooler comes to mind...
