This issue of Modified Luxury & Exotics (Sept/Oct 2006) has a 2001 Viper GTS twin turbo car built by Heffner Performance. The article states that it is Arizona's King Viper putting out 1200 rwhp!

I think this car was sold on Ebay not to long ago. Does anyone know of its whereabouts? I'm just curious and think it is one awesome Viper. Maybe a VCA member is the owner?

It was originally Twinvipers car. He might know the final whereabouts of it. I always liked that car as well.

Yes it was Jeff's car, twinvipers old GTS. He sold it over a year ago to a guy in AZ I believe named Vince? It is a sweet ride. Went to a private track rental at Atco with Jeff and Heffner and they were hoping to blast it down the 1320 a few times but after Jason tweaked a few things out on his laptop Jeff snapped a set of Unitrax halfshafts on the starting line.

Sweet! Vince is the owner in the Modified Luxury & Exotics article (Sept/Oct 2006). But I think the car has sold since as I remember seeing it for sale on Ebay sometime in 2007. It would be cool if a VCA member owned it. Anyone???? :dunno:

dont think it sold on ebay. If I remember it was a no reserve auction that was total BS. I dont think it was bid much more than 80k but I can assure it never sold for less then 100k.

So you are suggesting that the seller did not honor the winning bid under 80K...very interesting. I bet the winning bidder would have been a little upset if the seller did in fact not sell the car for the winning bid...

I am not saying they didnt honor the bid neccessarily. A lot of high dollar vehicle transactions dont end in the bidding area of ebay. People make offers and sell most cars like this that way. Secondly, what would bother you more, getting a worthless negative feedback comment because you didnt honor your 70k sale bid:rolleyes: on your 100k TT viper or selling at the 70k and leaving the 30k on the table:lmao:

The main thing is put the car price at minimal reserve at the true value so you dont screw yourself in the end rigth? If you dont do that in the first place, you are setting yourself up for failure no matter how you look at it. If you want to screw someone at the end, than dont let it be illegal. Dont be a dumb A$$ in the first place and put the reserve bid lower than you wanted to sell it in the first place. That is just common sense.

I am a Viperclub member and current Viper owner (06 FE Supercharged Coupe) who recently purchased the first twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo built by Jason Heffner from its original owner Wayne Skiles out of California. Wayne wanted to build the first Gallardo Spyder which is why he sold it but it is a very famous car and a historic build for Jason and the Lamborghini community who never had significant power options before.

This car (my car) was also on the cover and in a feature of Luxury and Exotics Magazine. The car currently makes 800hp but is soon getting boost turned up to 900-1000hp with 4WD to boot! There has been much posted on this car and even Lamborghini's one and only factory test driver (Valentino Baldoni who has been working there like 50+ years) came down after hearing of this build and drove the car himself.

I am in the process of changing the stealthy look of the car with a modified paint scheme with Viper like stripes running across the top, new wheels, carbon wing and so on. I am not a fan of the stealth look although it did look better in person than in pics.

Here a couple quick renderings I did (not actual wheels I am going with in either photo).

In total there are now 5 of these TT Lamborghini Gallardo's built by Jason and they are works of art. Everything from the engine bay, Jason's work, to the interior and exterior Italian design are incredible.

Car and Driver did a test on the number 2 car which does not make as much HP as the other 4 cars (but is now getting upgraded with Jason) and they talked about wheel spin problems (mostly due to 6spd / gearing) and still recorded 0-60 in 3.1 second, 11.4 Quarter Mile @ 129mph, 0-150 15.5 sec, 0-170 19.2 sec on street tires / pump gas. The original owner of the car I purchased was asked if he wanted to allow Car and Driver to test the car and he said no fearing they would beat the crap out of it since it's not their money but it would have been cool to see it there as well. Mine has the F1 trans that it is impossible to shift faster than with a manual and allows one to be much more consistent - it even blips the throttle for rev matching down shifts in the split of a second.

Car and Driver article:

Heffner Performance Twin Turbo Ford GT and Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo - Specialty Files - Car and Driver November 2006

Another owner with more horsepower (apx 800-875hp) than the one in Car and Driver took his to the Strip and on a very hot day, street tires, spinning tires off the line and running on pump gas he got a 10.99/11.0 so the cars can easily run mid 10's in better conditions with sticker tires. If nobody beats me to it I plan to be the one to hit these numbers.

The latest Gallardo TT Jason built has 1000hp (the most yet) and it will certainly be in the low 10's if not better. Just like the Vipers there are transmission, half shaft, clutch and other issues being worked out of all these cars but once we get it all worked out they will really be something.

Next month there should be a new Car and Driver 0-200-0 issue coming out and Jason put one of the TT Gallardo's into the mix and I think all will be very suprised with the results as there were cars the likes of the Saleen S7 and the other big boys involved. I have also heard Jason is looking for someone with a Bugatti Veyron so he can run one of these head to head.

The new Euro Magazine that was mentioned with yet another one of these Heffner TT Gallardo's is European Car Magazine. Unfortunately they got it wrong in terms of this being the worlds fastest Gallardo (it is one of the fastest but the other TT Gallardo owners have posted better times and in some cases have more HP such as the new 1000hp build and upcoming 1000HP Spyder from the man I bought the 1st TT G from)

Here is the cover:

Jason builds some incredible cars and this is no exception. The scream from it's Twin Turbo V10 climbing to over 8000rpms and no mufflers or cats (my current config) is just like being at an F1 race. The easily repeatable performance and traction you get with the 4wd is amazing as this thing pulls with heavy g's pinning you in your seat and many I have driven in it say this is the fastest car they have ever been in, that it's Scary Fast(this is not from girls either but die hard car guys), that it could take a street bike out and so on.

There is no doubt the car hooks up better than my Supercharged 06 FE Coupe and "feels" a good deal faster although they are probably close in actual 1/4 mile. After that it's definitely the Lambo on the top end as this car really just gets going at 130.

Right now I am in a virtual car heaven as I love the way both my modified Viper and modified Lamborghini are performing and it's so much fun to pick which I am going to drive in the morning - decisions, decisions!

I would leave the Viper stripes and go with the look of the second picture! Stripes make the look too busy IMHO. Man that is a sweet car, would love to see a video clip of that beast blasting by and with some in-cockpit footage.

Yes,

The TT Merci will be cool as the stock cars need a power boost with all those good looks but not so much to back them up. With TT these cars should be competing with the Saleen S7's, Bugatti's and other super exotics.

I actually talked with Jason about the two different Lambo's a couple months ago and it was his opinion the Gallardo is by far the better engineered car as it is only 3 year old technology and being the first Lambo with heavy influence coming from its Audi owners/engineers that really stepped up the Lambo game. The cars chassis strength and all aluminum construction are one example Jason pointed out as an example of this new technology.

The Merci is one hell of a looking car no question but as Jason also told me it is based on much older technology and engineering (apx 10 years old). It has an older Steel frame and due to it's massive size not to mention cost it's not exactly a car you can feel comfortable throwing around tight local streets. This is definitely more of a high speed open road type of exotic.

I have a good friend who owns a Merci and also owned a couple of Vipers including a TT SVS built Viper he crashed, totaled and nearly died in the process. After seeing my Vipers he said "how much he missed his Viper and wanted to get one again" which says a lot about the Viper experience. One day we took his car and my ACR GTS (basically stock) out burning it up on the highway and then later to the Autobahn race course we have here in Illinois.

Much to my surprise the cars were very closely matched on the street/highway but once we hit the track we lined up with a bunch of other Ferraris, Lotus, BMW and Porche's with him starting second to last and my car all the way at the back of the pack. With Ron Jr from SVS driving my car we passed him fairly quick and went on to pass every one of those other cars (some with very good drivers) nearly catching and passing the Lambo a second time just as our session was to end. I was surprised to say the least but the Merci's just don't seem all that nimble like the Gallardo's and Vipers.

This is a recent Gallardo review by car and driver with the Superleggra model which basically is the same stock HP (11 more to be exact) as other Gallardo's but sheds 126lbs which is easy to do as well with any Gallardo (seats and cats practically get you there) and surprisingly it's right in the current pack of crazy performers like the 08 Viper, C6 Zo6 and Porsche 911 Turbo. It clocked impressive numbers including 0-60 3.5 seconds, 1/4 mile 11.7 seconds, lap times as fast as C6z06 and thats with the e-gear automatic trans - not bad for a stock automatic.

Full Test: 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Road Tests - Car and Driver November 2007

I definitely love all Lambos, Vipers and other exotics and I am sure many Merci owners will enjoy the added performance Jason will give them the option to have. The world of Lamborghini performance upgrades was fairly limited until Jason showed them there's nothing to be afraid of we these cars if you know what your doing.

Now owning my TT Heffner Gallardo I am a true believer and appreciate Jason's incredible work and reliability that he puts into each car.

Oops I just realized I never posted my updated renderings in this thread. See how you like the revised design without stripes. I also have non bling Superleggra wheels and wing in addition to a side fade right into the brake cooling duct. I love it now and definitely want to go with the black and red paint over the standard solid scheme everyone else has. This is even kind of Veyron, Ferrari FXX style of paint scheme.
