I am not going to say anything negative about the Houston shops, but I make the few hour drive to Austin for ART and Dave Weaver. And mine is not the only Houston car over there.

Dan,

Call Randy 303-929-1222.High Performance Innovations - H3 Supercharger Kits He can do it a lot cheeper if you have the time before you move. Sorry to hear your leaving Denver

Hey Steve! I'll probably have to wait until I get to Texas for mods since I am leaving very soon. But, thanks for the referral. It was great to have lunch with you and don't forget you gave me the ride before I pulled the trigger on the Viper.

I will be keeping my home here and still have duties with our corporate office so I will be back and forth from Texas to Denver. Hopefully, we'll run into each other again down the road.

All the best!

I'm in NW Houston, welcome!

If you are not going to be here long, I would rent something near downtown. Traffic will drive you crazy if you commute. If you were going to be here long term, then we could suggest areas to purchase according to what you are looking for.

There is really only 1 game in town if you need an install and tune, and you already know who that is. RSI moved to Dallas. I had some work done at Fastlane and was happy, but that was parts only. I am not sure if they can tune as well.

Thanks. I will be there a minimum of 1 year but have the opportunity to stay at a downtown location, near where I work, for a couple of months. After that, I'll need to find a permanent place (with a garage).

Dan,
My advice would be to stay at that downtown location for a few months and get to know the town. During that time you can look for a place with a garage. There are many townhomes with garages near downtown if that interests you (both for sale and rent). This is a big city with many places to live! :D

Thanks again. I m dying to see how the Vper runs near sea level. All I'm bringing, for starters, is clothes, the Viper and my saltwater fishing gear. What else is there in life.....??:headbang:

You're welcome! We have got a pretty good track in Baytown where the NHRA runs. I have raced several vehicles there and get good times compared to known numbers (haven't taken the Viper yet). I also have a beach house farther down the coast where I saltwater fish on a regular basis, so we sound like we have our priorities in order.... LOL! :)

If I had extra garage space, I'd offer your Viper a place to stay, but I am full at the moment! ;)

We should at least hook up for a beer or some fishing. I grew up in San Antonio and my folks had a beach house in Port Aransas. I've been in Colorado for 10 years and I am so ready to come "home".

I know how to fish and drink beer - just let me know when you are settled in! My beach house is in Sargent if you know where that is.

YES, we now have the Tators of the South. Tomball Dodge, on the Northwest side of Houston is awesome. They have 2 Viper techs that do great work the FIRST time and really take care of your ride. I have used them several times. The owner is also a frequent driver in Viper Days. Call Rodney (service manager) at 281 642 3246 for any questions you might have.

I'd advise against buying a home in Houston on less than a 10 year stint. Home appreciation is negligible, even over several years' time. Taxes run 3-4% of your assessed value annually. You can rent something for close to what you pay on insurance and taxes for a decent home, and you don't have to carry the liability of ownership and sale. Let someone else carry that burden.

WELCOME!
