I know everyone is all about the motons... But what about Aldan coilevers for ~$1,100... :dunno: Hows the ride? What makes the motons so much better to justify ~$4,000 more? If you choose the right spring rates wouldn't the ride be similar?

Thanks:2tu:

Moton's will not blow up within 1000 miles... Thats the difference.

Have you read about Aldan's? Lots of problems....

Yea i read the threads... But some where saying that Aldan have fixed the problem. So i've read mixed reviews...

Has anyone recently installed a set? If so, how do you like them?

Take a look at KW Coilovers. Less than Motons & Penske's. If your not a track rat KW's are good alternative. :2tu: .

You get what you pay for. What do you want to do? Lowering alone, or drags+ or RoadRace or AutoX or a tiny bit of all or a LOT of one? Someone has to help meet your needs.......that carries all these items:

Spring caps $249
Eibach Pros $349
Aldans $999+
KWs Complete $3000
Motons $4000+
Penskes $5000+

hey jon,
Well I guess i'll be purchasing my wheels and suspension from you over the winter:2tu:

I want the lowered stance and improved ride quality on the street... The car may see a tiny bit of the drag stripe (3x a year). I don't think i will autocross her.

What do you suggest?

You do get what you pay for. I heard too many bad stories about Aldan's. I wasnt wild about dropping 4K for Motons, but i knew id get my moneys worth and have NO worries. They have been great. Adjust so their smoothe on the freeway and adjust so there stiffer and handle better at the track.

If you want to save a little go with KW's but Id still recomend spending the extra $$ for the motons.

I'd also like to know how they ride. Just for the street and a little lowering.

Ive been using the Aldans for a while now and havent had a bit of trouble with them. They are definately night and day different from stock and serve there purpose just fine. Again they definately improved the ride and looks of the car for a reasonable amount of money. I went with 500's in front and 700's in the rear.

Hope this helps.

Motons and and KWs and Eagles have Variable Ride: You tell ME how you want them to "Ride" . Then they ride LIKE YOU WANT THEM TO RIDE!

That is why it is important to choose a vendor who asks you at least 4 important questions in planning your basic setup. Its not always price alone......

What would you say the key differences between the motons, kw, and eagles? +/-

I understand most people are under the impression you get what you pay for BUT... I also know most people assume one brand is superior just b/c its more expensive. If I can justify without a doubt that the motons are drastically better than the others (newer Aldans) for my goals I would have no problem paying the extra $$. All I keep reading is that the motons are best... but why? is it the build quality? design? Is it going to make the ride quality and stability better than the Aldans for my use? If so, how?

I am looking for a setup to lower, improve ride quality and stability... The stock ride seems bouncy.

Thanks guys:2tu:

the Aldans are G A R B A G E. A close friend has gone through 3 sets in only 100 miles per set. He is now fighting to get his money back and has stock springs and shocks back on the car again now just to have a SAFE ride. The car would bounce so bad after 50-100 miles that over bumps on the freeway the car would nearly lose the rear end. He is lucky that he isnt DEAD.

Jon with so many complaints, and hearing this story first hand I cant believe that you would even list them as an option.

Are the Aldan coiolvers the same setup for the RT10/GTS as it is for SRT-10? If so :omg: But I would like to see the awnser to this question posted...

Are the shocks bottoming out from being too low? No shock can survive if it is out of it's range of control and then the valving bottoms and blows the shock out. I would be asking that question first.

DO NOT BUY ALDAN!!!! If you do you might as well flush your money down the toilet!!!!!!! I speak from personal experience. After being blown out 3 times, only lasting about 100miles at a time and almost loosing my car at 125mph because it had unstoppable bounce, i will never trust those guys again. Im still trying to get my money back!!!!

I have to concur on the Aldans. I was one of the early customers (victims) when I tested them out before I would resell them. After losing 3 sets or rears in a row, I sent them back for a refund, only to get boned with a ludicris $300 restocking fee. I was so happy to get rid of them, I didnt even care at the time.

I dont know what/if they changed anything at the time (they stated they had for set #3), or if they have since, but after having one of them apart (curiosity, blown out anyway) they are built lke absolute garbage, and I will never purchase another set to even evaluate them.

Because everyone has a different price point and Jon offers something for every range, where as I only offer things I would use myself. Not a dig to Jon at all, he sells parts, we sell cars and built cars using parts that we also sell over the counter when asked for. We love talking to people about parts and cars, but don't actively seek out the parts sales, although we do sell quite a bit of them. :2tu:

I wonder why Parts Rack sells them if they are junk?

Note: This thread is 3+ years old, so my comments / answers are farther up. Short version:

Great value for a trailer queen.....low-mile, weekender..... just ONE of the options.

LIFE TIME WARRANTEE
MADE IN USA
INEXPENSIVE

Trust me .. Some Viper owners who do 3000/mi / year like this solution! Buyers are always fully-informed if they are considering this brand. You get what you pay for...and if you hammer them for a season you get a ''free'' rebuild. THE YEAR MATTERS! Some years-models have lots of problems...some have few. Some driving styles have NONE. Fact is, some owners always gravitate to and even demand the lowest possible cost. We accomodate all buyers, but ensure they are FULLY informed. You get what you pay for. And if you buy on price alone, as I stated here in 2007, its at your informed choice.

Musing: Where in the WORLD does one buy the very least-cost product of anything, and receive the Very BEST Great product of anything? I bet there ARE such products.....but rare?

My 03 which I bought last April with 23,000 miles (now has 25) came lowered with Aldans. I really have nothing to compare them to, and I don't know when in the car's life they were installed. But in 2000 miles over driving, I haven't had any issues (knock wood).

This fits the profile of a pleasure-driven, 3500 miles a year Viper. But if you were tracking, autocrossing, and more....whoop-de-do catching air, you would likely need a 1-3 year rebuild. Under warrantee, no charge
