OK...let me rephrase.

Looking for lighter than Gen2 OEM rotors. The OEM Gen 3 rotors are boat anchors from what I understand. The new ACR rotors are lighter. Are they the lightest steel ones?

Thanks

acr rotors=stoptech aerorotors. I believe they are the lightest steel rotor.
I don't recall exactly, but the stock rotors are 22-24lbs each

I asked a similar question when the ACR came out and someone who had replaced their stock SRT-10 rotors with the Stoptech 2-piece aerorotors provided the following data:

The poster reported that stock front rotors weighed 26.6 lbs and 2-piece Stoptech rotors and hat weighed 17.6 lbs while rear stock rotors weighed 24.2 lbs minus rear Stoptech 2-piece rotors and hats weighed 17.6 lbs for a total weight savings of 31.2 lbs.

Hope this helps.

Looks like the going rate is somewhere from $1,600 to $1,800. While these rotors are on my list of mods-to-do, It is a little steep at this point for me considering the holiday season and the other mods i am working on. However thats not to say i wouldnt purchase them if the price is right...

I have stoptech two-piece slotted aerorotors enroute. The shipping info says each box weighs 32lbs. I would assume each rotor then weighs 16lbs.

I suspect you could get the World Challenge 2 piece Brembo rotor from the Comp Coupe catalog.

It's a real race rotor and already works. If i remember correctly - they are obscenely expensive - as are more Brembo 2 piece set ups.

John Archer would be my source.

I just got these 4 rotors for $950 and IMHO these are the best rotors for $$$$. These are DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors and their quality is first class. They are not the lightest but they weigh 22.35 lbs for the front 2 pc. rotor and 26 lbs for the rear 1pc. rotor. I heard that they also offer slotted rotors as well.

gripforce where did u get those rotors from

PartsRack just began stocking these as well, they are from Australia! They come pre-painted with temp-sensor paint, so you can see how hout you REALLY got em while lapping or in your 'aggressive street use" The weights posted by GRIP are backwards.

1-piece rotors are also offered

If there is enough interest I can offer the first 20 buyers a complete set of four two piece rotors with hard anodized forged 7075 CNC hats for $1150.00 plus shipping.

I will contact the forum admin & become a site sponsor for this group buy.

These rotors are manufactured by Microdynamic Engineering LLC in Michigan. The castings are done in either Eastern Europe or South America, depending on which foundry has capacity at the time of order. These are stock sizes 355mm x 32mm with a 19.2mm air gap. They have 48 curved vanes, and are cast from the highest grade ductile grey iron (same as Brembo & Stoptech). They are a fully floating design just like the Brembo two piece rotors. The rotor rings are fully zinc washed (gold in color) to prevent any surface rust on the non-friction surfaces. I have had these on several track cars including Vipers and STI's and the performance is great. Each Viper size rotor is 9lbs lighter then the factory rotors. I only offer these in sloted or with cast in holes. The slotted design is highly recommend, as any brand of rotor with through holes will crack under severe use.

Dealer inquiries are also welcome.

OK, I contacted Chris to become a Site Sponsor and offer a Group Buy on two piece rotors. I will post product details in a separate email, however the rotor rings are equivalent to Brembo rings and the hats are CNC machined from 7075 forgings. They are fully floating two piece rotors. These will save you 9 pounds per corner. If we can get 20 sets of four rotors on order I can offer these for $1100.00 + shipping from Michigan.

They are being cast now, and will be ready to ship in approx 30 days.

Our Rotors, 17lbs each, light, look great, affordable and INCREDIBLE performace. Ask any of the people who run them on Viper Days or customers from Woodhouse.

EuroTeck Motorsports -- Home

I have one of the slotted/drilled sets in stock that we are giving away at a very discounted price due to us moving to a new location and clearing our shelfs to make our move as easy as possible. Email me if anyone is interested, its ready to ship. [email protected]

I have Eurotech Rotors and EBC "Yellow" pads on my 06 Coupe. Attended Viper Days at MMR in Iowa, SRT/Mopars at Track in Memphis and a couple of local events in 07.

The Eurotechs weigh the same as the Stoptechs, look great and stop well. Would recommend them to all ....

Have fun ... Jon :)
