My last two weekend cars were C5 vettes. Thought I was always going to be a vette guy until I drove this Viper last night!! ha I get 100 times more looks in this car than I did in the vette. And I thought I got a lot from the Vette! ha

I bought my 94 RT/10 off of Ebay with only 21K miles on it. It was located in FL from a dealer named Specialty Cars of Sarasota. I got it for a great deal but dealing with the dealer was not fun. The car was also not in the condition that he said it was in. My fault for not seeing the car in person. Live and learn! I will post a thread telling the story so no one else has to go threw what I did. Just wanted to say hey to everyone!

Anyways I love this car and this site! I will sign up with VCA later this week when I have time. Can't wait till summer!! I still have a smile on my face from driving my car 4 hours ago!!! ha

Have a Merry Christmas!!!

Jons were beaten by our parents, {Had the "H" kicked out of us! } grew up with more Vette abuse and then bought Vipers to quell the pain.... ps That dealer has burned before...

Statistically a lot of JON s here. Welcome

haha That's true Jon! I'm sure I will be doing business with you here very soon when it comes to the exhaust!

I can believe it that they have burned people before... I was told the car was in perfect condition with only a little wear under the front bumper. But when I got it there was a 12" x 1" section on the hood that looks like it had something glued on it or someone dripped paint thinner all over it. I got it for a good price so I will just get it painted.

I have yet to look under the hood b/c I'm not sure if I will be able to close it after I open it!! ha I have read the post on here about closing the hood but I would feel better if I can find someone that has one in the area to show me before I try it. ha I'll just keep it closed for now. . . ha

Good luck...that guy sold me a 94 that had been in a fatal accident and was actually 2 vipers put together with a washed title. He is a TOTAL SCUMBAG!

I feel your pain Jon...my car was mis-represented by the dealer as well. Hopefully, with a little TLC, you'll have her good as new.

BTW, if you'll put your VIN number in your profile (only the admins can see it), I can update your title from Enthusiast to Viper Owner (until you can join the VCA of course! ;) ) Actually, now is a great time to join the club. You have 10 days left to beat the membership dues price increase and become a member of THE best car club in the world, for only $100!

Welcome to the Viper Nation!

Welcome aboard. These are indeed a good group of guys. I'm in the process of getting an 02 from another Florida dealer, and it seems to have a few issues as well.
Sigh...

Thanks guys!

Ok I can't find the on-line payment for the VCA. Is there not one? I thought I saw one somewhere.

I wish I knew about this dealer before I bought this car. I have yet to look under the hood and now I'm scared to do so! Might see an engine bay that has been put together with glue!!! I hope not! I think I did a search on here but did not come up with anything on this dealer. I will make sure I'll post a good thread so no one can get burned again if they are careful.

Hi and welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about your experience. A lot of people here with really good knowledge, perhaps a local member can come over and have a look at your car.

I have owned 2 ZR-1's, 1 Z06, and 1 LT4 Collector Edition/Grand sport.. I liked all of them(mostly the ZR-1's). But nothing compares to owning a Viper.. Congrats, and welcome..

Welcome aboard! You're going to enjoy the ownership experience and the help you get on these boards.
That so-called dealer had an ebay auction a few weeks ago for an '08 Snakeskin green coupe. I had reported him for advertising something he didn't own and ebay yanked the listing. Then I got a bunch of threatening emails from the guy. Not an indication of a reputable dealer...

Welcome to the better side. Now that you had a taste, you'll never go back.

I was told when I bought mine. "Once you own a Viper you will always own a Viper." Now I believe it!

IF I would have to have a Vette, I like the -96 Grand Sport A LOT, or the ZR-1.:headbang:
I really dont care for the blue devils or C-5's, 6's etc.... Nice Vette's you had there!:2tu:
