I've been thinking the same thing about my 06 cpe. I could dump about 15k in my car right now. I talked to a reputable tuner about tt, realized I would be spending on the low side about 35k to build it right. I could go paxton and have a good build for 18k. Other members I spoke with said that outside of the build, be prepared to break.......it will happen they tell me. No more warranty after you do these mods either. Here I sit on the fence and with resale down, the 08 viper,zr1 and the gtr-3 coming out with sick numbers what do you do? Keep your car, do some mods and keep it under warranty, mod the sh$t out of it after warranty expires or buy one of the above cars in two years at most likely less than sticker. Vipers for me are not daily drivers, but the zr1 or gtr might be and you would drive around relatively unnoticed, unlike the exclusivity of the viper.

The transmission on the gen 3 was always to notchy(especially 1 & 2) for me to consider any major hp upgrades...So i had faith in dodge and jumped on the 08 bandwagon early and sold my gen 3 four months ago...total depreciation was 15k which is not to bad considering 20k miles...imho the 08 is always gonna be the better car ,, sorta like comparing 430 to a 360.....

If there is interest, I can offer an upgrade kit to retrofit your T56 to TR6060 transmission. The difference if night and day!!!!

My suggestion would be to keep the car and send it to Heffner for a Twin Turbo and no longer worry about anything from the factory. More money will be spent upfront but 10 years from, you will still have a killer fast car ABD .

Bone stock most SRT10's are 440 rwhp..

-KN filters=445 rwhp
-roller rockers=450 rwhp
-exhaust with no cats=460 rwhp
-belanger headers=475 rwhp
-x metal or ROE throttle body=480 rwhp
-light weight flywheel DC or findanza=483 rwhp
-light weight pulleys=490 rwhp
-finish it with DC tune=500-510 rwhp

Keep in mind that this is all very general and results will vary. Some people dyno 455-460 rwhp BONE STOCK..

I my self hit 459 rwhp with only KN filters and arrow roller rockers

Dont waste time or money with roller rockers or flywheel if your aiming for 500rwhp. And exhaust and no cats gets more then 10hp. Most get 10-15 with just Corsa, like myself, then removing cats added another 10+.

500 rwhp can be reached many ways, I got 508 rwhp on my 05' with, Corsa 3", No cats, DC Performance tune, green filters, Xmetal TB and smaller UD pulley.

My buddy's 04' hit 496 rwhp with just Corsa 3", no cats and Kooks headers.

Still nothing is like a paxton. If I wanted the most easy way to big power, and had to do over again, i would have just got a 06 from Woodhouse and had them install basic paxton kit. You would have a very reliable 630-650 rwhp car.

Ha ha..Too late man..I bought the car with arrow roller rockers already installed.. ( installed by dodge though)

With the arrow roller rockers and KN's i hit 459 rwhp SAE..I then removed the cats mufflers and gained about 1.5 mph in the 1/4 mile so i figure i picked up another 10-15 rwhp but have not dynoed...( but only removed the cat by the muffler..Not the cat after the headers) figured she'd be a lil quieter like that

Dodge is installing a comp cam as we speak and hopefully they'll hurry the hell up and finish so I can go dyno and run the 1/4 mile to see what she gained...

Since you did not dyno after removing the cat you will never really know how much HP you gained from the comp coupe cam.....:dunno:

Dont want to get this thread off track, but I agree with B767 on you should dyno between mods if you want to be able to state accurate numbers. Otherwise its just a big guess.

When I put in the UD pulley and xmetal TB, It felt strong, thought I maybe gained 15+ rwhp. Well I went to dyno and only picked up 9 rwhp with the two additional mods. Then when I added headers a few weeks later, it sounded great, but didnt feel like I added a ton of power. I went to dyno and saw I picked up 12 more rwhp.
So I feel you should have dyno #'s to prove anything and it especially helps if you continue to go to same eaxact dyno. Alll your numbers may be higher or lower then everyone elses, but you will have accurate results between mods.

Lastly, Twister, just because you pick up 1.5 mph in 1/4 mile, doesnt always mean much. I ran a 11.8 @124 mph, Ive also run a 11.6 @ 120mph and a bunch of consistent 11.7's all between 122-123 mph. So after my last few mods, i ran th 11.6@120 mph, so does that mean I lost power because I ran 4 mph slower? All were with a 1.8 60 ft on street tires.

Well I go out and use my FX2 timer...Ive ran the SRT10 40 times with it...After removing the exhaust/cats the car always trapped 1-1.5 mph higher than before hand...One thing I have on my side is Hawaiian weather is pretty consistant at 70-80 degrees all the time...

I dont go but my one best ever mph with just roller rockers and KN's and then one best ever time after removing the cats/mufflers..I go by averages...

20- 12.05 @ 122.2 ( highest mph yet)!!!!!!!!!!

looks like i was averaging around 12.0 at 120 mph

Then I called it a night...

27- 11.92 @ 121.7
28- 11.92 @ 121.5

looks like I was averaging 11.9 at 121 mph

Sure theyre could have been a slight weather change..But I had ran what..21 times on several differant nights and only managed a best ever of 11.9 at 122 mph????

Then immediatly after the cat/muffler removal Im running 11.9's like it's no big deal in the 121.5-121.9 range and hitting 124 mph...

So yes I dont have any dyno numbers before the CC cam...But i know that before hand the car would usually run 11.9 at 121ish..

Upon testing if I run several 11.7's at 123 mph..Well to me that better than dyno comparisons
