I am curious what you guys think a fair price for my car would be. Its a 2000 Steel Grey GTS. I am the second owner. I bought the car with all the mods done to it. All the work was done at DC Performance. It has TNT Heads, Cam, Longtubes, Ported Intake, re-cored radiator, Moton Suspension (coil overs), Stop-Tech Big Brake kit, 5 Point Harrnesses, I Forged 19" Astra rims ( black centers with chrome lips), Vec 2, and black vynal stripes. The only real flaw on the car is the lower front underside that has some curb rash. Car made 555 rwhp and has 29,000 miles. I am not selling now but it may come in the future so I am trying to get an idea if the unthinkable happens.

Thanks,
Robert

not a chance for that price.

I would have said that too, but I just know that v10kingsnake is lurking around the corner to call me stupid again.

C'mere little snakey snake... Wanna play word games again with Dave?

Yeah, great selection of expensive mods on that car, but after spending $20K+ on them, they're worth $5K.

I'd say $55K.

If you have patience than mid to high 50's. If you want to sell it fast, low 50's. Stocks you can get from 38-40k depending on the miles.

So you're saying a stock 2000 Steel Gray GTS with over 20k miles and some curb rash is worth $50k? I don't think so. I would put the stock value closer to $38k to $40k and if you add the proposed $5k value for the add-ons, it should be $43K to $45k. Just my 2c.

Yes... Curb rash, or fascia scraping as it could be known as, is hardly a deterrent from a descent car price..

I wasn't saying that the curb rash detracts that much from the value...I'm just saying that it shows the car is not perfect and "high mileage" and that model, one year after forged pistons and one year before anti-lock brakes isn't worth $50k, unless there is something "special" about it, like very low mileage or perfect condition after a viper wizard inspection.

Let's start calling the cars with the statistical average of 3K miles per year "average miles," not "high miles."

Yes, 3K miles per year is considered statistically average for sports cars and such. If you want to argue that number I will do it just for fun. It's Friday and I'm bored. And I don't mean you yogibayer. I'm challenging Planet Earth!!!

LOL..I put it quotes because of the previous thread that claimed anything over 10k was high mileage. Watching Barrett Jackson this week has started me thinking that anything over 50 miles might be "high" mileage though :)

I think 65K is indeed high considering you can purchase an 06 coupe for just around 70K these days. I would say around 52K. Those are some nice mods, but the suspension, brakes and 5 pt harness suggest that it has been tracked. Also the 5pt harness and IForged rims are more personal preference on the vehicle and would therefore require a buyer who thinks those additions are worth the extra scratch. Additionally, the 5pt harnesses, if the future buyer wanted to keep them, would most likely need to be re-webbed/re-certified.

The way the market is right now I would say if you ask for $54K you might have to sell it for $48K - $50K to move it. You would have to find someone who appreciates those mods. Unless you have to sell...I wouldn't put it on the market right now. You could probably part it out and get more for it.

2000 probably fetch the lowest price of the GTS. NO ABS or forge pistons. 29000 miles is consider high miles. Most wont touch it if the price is not low. Personally I would if the price was fair. The mods listed are very nice and from a reputable shop. I would say mid 50's.

39K-44K in the market right now. The mileage is high by comparison of what else is available, and the mods really dont add anything, unless the buyer wants those exact mods, then maybe worth 3K-5K more to him.

Thanks guys. I would have assumed mid 40's. So a little higher than I thought. But as my pay off is $37,000 I know I am ok if I ever have to sell quick.

A bone stock 2000 Viper will be walked by quite a few production cars now, including the new Viper and Z06 Vettes, so 600+ ponies, better brakes and suspension can be meaningful to the right buyer. However, the field for those who will pay $$$ for them is much smaller. I say mid-fifties if you're patient.

Wow, smell the crack smoke on this thread. An 00 with that kind of miles is a low 40's car. It will fetch mid 40's if you idiot fish for a while and land a big one.
