Does anyone know if the No. Cal. club (Fred Kinder) will be doing a driving school event on Friday before ViperDays in February at ButtonWillow?
If so, how do we sign up?

Thanks,
Lance

Hi Lance,
I am surprised that you haven't got a responce yet. Fred is usually quick to respond. You can try the PM option.

Sorry for being so slow.

The Skip Barber-Dodge disconnect is a loss to both parties but, due to management changes at both, neither understood the synergy. And likely still do not.

Anyone that wants Schooling/training form professional instructors (Skip Barber Sr. Instructors) let me know and I will get you in contact with the right instructors.

The way the last school worked was with the BAMF/Viper Days open track at Buttonwillow last Feb.
I suggets one instructor for two students and would try to run the BAMF event first then continue with Viper Days. It is an opportunity to get up the learning curve very fast. Nothing beats professional instructors who know how to comunnicate and have many years of Viper Seat time as well as being professional racers. I will let you guys take care of the logistics and arrangements with the instructors and will help anyway possible. Just give me your contact info and I will have the instructors contact you directly.

Thanks Fred.
I remember last year that the BAMF group did a driving school on Friday before Viper Days. Didn't it involve using the skid pad, along with other techniques?

If I'm reading your post correctly, this year is more like a "test and tune" driving with a private instructor on the track itself.

Last year the NorCal VCA offered the School which was a one instructor per two student program in conjunction along with the BAMF event. Skid pad was planned but dropped because of cost for space rental and additional insurance. The school payment included the instruction and payment for the BAMF event.

What I am suggesting is that anyone interested could do the BAMF event and contract with the instructors directly. This would be the same as last year except those interested will have to register with BAMF and pay the instructors directly. I will help as needed with the instructors.

Thanks for the clarification Fred.
There are a bunch of SoCal first timers and green group members going this year.
Everyone is very excited about the event, but at the same time very nervous as well.

I'll definitely pass along the info..

See you in ButtonWillow !!
