Some of my non-car guy friends think the plates I ordered are...non-masculine, to put it nicely. I'll ask the aficionados here and prepare myself for the worst.

The Texas plates read "JAILB8".

Obviously I'm not a 16 year old girl, but my car is (1993 RT/10) and has the potential to land me in jail. My friends think my humor will go over most people's heads and most will expect to see an oversexed teenage chick driving my car. I bet the Viper guys would be on my side, and they bet otherwise.

Let me have it.

Do you know what ********* means? Your friend wins.

Yes, I know what ******** means in a figurative sense. If you take it literally, it means anything that would lure you into lock-up. Like, say...a fast car?

That, combined with the fact that my car is "underage" (16 years old) and that most people name their cars girl names (a la "Gone in 60 Seconds") I figured it wouldn't be too much of a leap to make the association. Seeing the plate on a car, I associate the tag with the vehicle, not the driver. However, if I was wearing a shirt with that on it...different story.

I guess I'm solo on this one...I think I'm 0 for 10 or so at this point. A joke isn't funny if you have to explain it. Looks like the Texas DMV will be delivering some garage decorations...

JAILB8 - 16 year old hottie still in High School. Might wanna change it.

:usa:

Again, figuratively but not literally, but everyone's point is made; I'm too clever for my own good. :D

Maybe I'll get it anyway as a joke...or I wonder if **** is taken?

1. Tubular was a joke. A really GNARLY joke.

2. How did you know I was girlie, you big hunk of testosterone? Was it a wild guess, or have you been looking at my cheerleading pictures in the yearbook again?

3. Apostrophes rock.

Vanity Plate Recognition: +/- 20%

That's not convincing. I need people laughing WITH me, not at me. I made the connection instantly, but I'm paid to think creatively and sometimes that may be to my detriment. Or maybe the average Viper owner is a dirty old man! :):):)

Methinks for the most part the Viper crowd is pretty sharp, so I'd hate to see how I'd fair against the likes of the "common" folk. Looks like the garage walls may be adorned with $40 of what could have been.

You can now do 7 letters in Texas. How about BIGDADY or SUGRDAD? If that's not casting a wide net, I don't know what is.

Explaining Viper things to you
My underlying philosophy on personalized plates is if you have to explain it in even the slightest way, screw that idea.

And you've been doing lots of 'splaining here...

BTW, fellow Texan, whaddup with this 7 characters thing? I was just at the DMV site and thought that was NOT for personalized plates.

I noticed on the DMV site that you could put in an extra character or two...I don't remember if it was 7 or 8, but it was more than 6. I'd post the link if it wasn't such a pain the @$$ to find.

This is what I was basing it on. The DMV site has 8 spaces.

After he writes you the ticket, the nice police officer will have a great time showing the duplicate copy to his buddies.

I loved a plate I saw on a 900 HP Corvette that was AMWOODY.

I don't think that plate is too rad. I learned the hard way that what seems funny on paper might not be so great once you put it on the car! I ordered AVALBL for my SRT. I thought it looked pretty funny when I ordered it, but when I put it on the car I realized that it just made me look like a *******! That plate lasted on my car for about 3 days. I did have YELL-OH on my yellow Gallardo. That one was pretty ******* too, but I loved it. ;)
