Right above the door there is a piece of plastic/rubber- basically the molding/weather strip where the window comes out. I spoke to Chuck and he said the black plastic part is called a "belt molding". Chuck also said they cost around $125 and tend to warp/bend over time.

Does anyone know where I can buy them for both doors? I looked on eBay but found nothing. Also I heard that the way the molding was made is different on the 96 compared to the molding on the doors for the 97-02 GTS. I was planning on buying them and driving down to Tator's Dodge this summer to meet Chuck and have him put those "belt molding" strips on my car along with giving it an overall check through. Are they hard to put on the car or could that be something I could do myself if I didn't want to wait a month or so before I go down to see him? I'm sure I could have Chuck order them for me so he would have them for when I came down; but I thought it might be easier to just order then myself ahead of time- especially if it's something I could do myself. Also is it possible to completely replace them and use the molding style on the 97-02 GTS since I heard it was designed better and would not warp overtime.

Here are 2 pictures of my soon-to-be car where I drew arrows in the area where you can kinda see the strips look a little warped. I actually had a VCA member from this forum who lives in the Detroit area go check the car out for me and he was the one that told me they looked a little warped. You can kinda tell from these pics; but if you have a pretty decent monitor you will be able to see them much clearer. :2tu:
