Saw a red white stripes GTS....maybe RT10, yesterday 7:30 pm ish going south on Rt 235 St. Mary's County Maryland. Got a glimpse and car going opposite direction so fast I couldnt make out GTS vs. RT10. About 30 seconds later were 4 local police cruisers in full swing going 120 ish trying to catch up.

Oh my oh my....I believe the summer has officially begun.

If a viper has a 30 sec head start I can't see how police could even come close to catching up. Even calling ahead, 30 sec is enough to go any direction. Unless the had a chopper following him.

I've seen a red Viper w/stripes driving on NAS Patuxent River base twice in the last few months. Possibly a young pilot, would explain alot.

White, silver, gray stripes.....???? Hell, they could have been purple. That car was going so fast I couldnt even tell if it was an RT or GTS. I could tell the telltale front end as Viper but by the the time I turned my head left it was just a blur. I know he was going faster than the cops because I could clearly make out their faces. Had about a 20 second lead but if he didnt kill himself, that was widening quickly.

Too rural for choppers but Im sure every black and white withing radio shot was looking.

He probably either crashed or got away. You did say rural and 4 cops cars behind him?

Here if we had all the cops within 100mi. in either direction that would be 5 pickup trucks, lol. Much earlier I mentioned that I love Highway 20. I can't imagine more than 3 cops working at the best of times though.

When I used to play Need For Speed Hot Pursuit II I used to outrun the cops in their cars and in the chopper! I escaped the road blocks and spike strips too!!

Uhmm, ok. Just make sure you keep a video game and real life separate in your brain.....I wouldn't want to be the guy running from the cops no matter what kind of lead I had.:drive:

I've had my Red/Black striped Viper GTS on 20" Chrome Forgeline SP3P's up that way a good bit:drive: It wasn't me who outran the cops, but can you imagine how much fun it was for both the person driving the Viper and the cops lol.

I think they would have a really hard time catching me on 17 lbs of boost :omg:

Jeff, I've been through Mechanicsville several times lately as well. I had to get 5.5 gallons of Methanol from MIR and also came that way to drop the car off at Underground Racing last weekend....Would you believe the cops pulled me over before crossing the 301 bridge for no front tag? They have nothing better to do obviously!

1MEANSNAKE, glad to see that you are still around!!! Did they give you a ticket or did you tell them that you just finished washing the car and forgot to put the tag back on? It works sometimes!!!!!!

Pretty bad i never have any problems driving all over the place, but the bridge cop with nothing better has to hassle people

My opinion is........UNPOPLAR but...........We as Viper owners should repect the Authority over all people. Hope he/her was caught before they hurt someone. These cars are so far above the average driving persons' comprehension, that at glance in the mirror does not regisiter that a car might be 150+ behind them and.........................they realy did nothing wrong when they turned in front of em. Dodge really gives us a chance to run our supercars safely and not endanger a 70 year old person who is out driving to get a burger. Think about the image that we need to show!

Ahhhh long time ago---in a 70 Boss 302, yours truly outran the cops. Had the local chief of polices' daughter in the car, so either way, I was saved. Very cool story--buy me a beer to hear all of it!!! John
