I was browsing e-bay, dreaming of the next car, and I swear there is not a single car out there that is better looking than a GTS. Nothing. Squat. Jack Shee-aattt!

I LOVE THE VIPER!!!!

I agree I've always loved the GTS.. it's just an amazing car but I would eventually like to get another car or two just because I am a huge car enthusiast..

I would love to get a 2006 E46 M3 Comp Package as my daily driver during the months without snow and a Range Rover as my daily driver during the months with snow..

And obviously if I could ever afford it as a 2nd weekend car besides the Viper; I would love to have a Ferrari or Lamborghini to bring out my Italian Side :2tu:

The new SRT10's lost the curves..... that's what makes the GENII Viper the best Viper ever built.. IMHO :)

You mean the Vette/Honda S2000 look-a-like? I guess the ultimate would be Gen 2 styling with a Gen 3 motor and an import quality interior.

You've hit the nail on the head....ALMOST ;)

GENII styling with a GENIV engine rather then GENIII would be simply amazing. :smirk:

As for interior I love my custom Venzano so I'm fine with that.. but import quality interior would be a huge plus! Or Chrysler could just hire Venzano for a ridiculous amount of money to design all the stock interiors from now on or at least have it listed as an extra feature upgrade when buying the car.. :2tu:

I've always hoped that someday they will do a limited edition GENII and bring it back for at least one year in like 2010 along side the current GENIV... they could price it the same as the new SRT10 and it would still sell.. although I'm sure every car they made would sell before they were even released to the public...and the dealer markup would be outrageous! :omg:

Obsidian: Agreed...it's the GTS that made us fall in love with the Viper! GREAT body style...I ALSO agree with DrDJ...that a FGT would be a VERY nice addition to the stable!!! (Would have to keep the Viper tho...wouldn't take a FGT OVER a Viper!) ~juli

Agreed 100%. That's why I'm doing all I can to save for one and refuse to settle for any other toy car as a replacement.

I'd take a FGT over a viper.

DrDJ

Ford GT is nice.. but I'd never buy one over a Viper- but definitely a nice car nonetheless..

I agree!
Browsing ebay 1 month ago landed me in the seat of my "new" GTS Coupe. I sold my '97 blue/white two years ago, and have regretted it ever since. I love my '96 even more! :headbang:

My goal is to get a 96 B&W and an FE. Then I will get the Ford GT. But only after I add two more vipers.

Also, I have to give Chad a nod. I am not an RT/10 fan nearly as much as the GTS, but the pictures he has scrolling through his avatar with his "friends" makes me want his McViper!

agreed, would trade nothing for my B/W GTS
Gen2 GTS IMO = the most beautifull american styling past/present/future

however i would love to someday have a gen1 to keep it company :)
(or a gen2 rt10 w/side exhaust conversion would do)

the only other cars that really appeal to me (just below the viper) are the shelby series1 and a few TVR's

GTS are definitely in a class all by themselves. One of the most beautiful cars ever made, period.

The Ford GT is a beautiful work of art (but the interior looks like :censored:!). Vipers run in my blood. I would have to say I would take a twin turbo charged GTS or and SRT over the FGT any day.:nana:

I know a lot (okay, MOST) of the Viper guys and girls (hi juli!) are into the performance, first and foremost. I get it. Then you step back and look at the car for what it is, and it's really a work of art. I'm foolish enough to like "F" cars - didn't want to spell it out in case it'd be banned - and own a couple but those cars are honestly MORE art than car.

The Viper GTS is a rare combination of both.

The OP (obsidian) has it right, you can browse ebay all day and not find a car SIGNIFICANTLY more beautiful, and if you do, as taste allows, it won't have the performance measure in a Viper.

I just offed a 70 Mangusta, arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever penned, but a car only a ********* could love. I have a pretty well-sorted late Pantera in the group too, which offers good performance (era corrected) and if it was a woman, we'd all be adulterers. But its not the modern drivable a Viper GTS is, right now, for LESS money.

I got in a Ford GT last week (not seriously interested) and sat there. I couldn't see out the front, or the back. The door hit me in the head (do you have any idea what kind of door swing you'd need in your garage to actually EXIT an FGT?) and there's NO trunk. "Pack light m'lady, we'll buy crap when we get there!" Sure, the car rocks as an American statment, but at an asking price of $169k, but I'd prefer my Viper with $120grand in the nearly nonexistent console cubby.

I'm just saying, in a roundabout way, that the Gen II Viper GTS is a style, performance, and rarity package we're not likely to repeat anytime soon, for anywhere near the money. I know this will insense those with definite, specific, tastes to the contrary, each within their right, but looking at what tastes pervade the future investment community, Obsidian is dead on. It's a gorgeous, rare, high performance car yet a bargain of obscene proportions.

Agreed!!! here is a new photo i took today of my two snakes playing in the front yard.
I gave 7 people rides in the two cars today to let them voice there favorite choice . They all said. "to go to a car show or want to do some racing around the GTS was choice but for to get out for a ride and enjoy the day and felt had the best ride it was the RT.

Mitch, that is a GORGEOUS picture of your two SNAKES!!!!! :2tu: For LOOKS alone, I'd pick the GTS...as you said before, for RAW BRUTE-NESS, the RT/10!!! BEAUTIFUL! ~juli
**Yeah, the FGT is NOT 'getting-into-or-out-of' friendly, but that would not be why you would get it~~~~~:drive:!**

And as much as I hate to say this, EVEN I confuse SRT's w/ Z06's from a distance.

There is absolutely NO mistaking a GTS for anything other than a Viper GTS!

Since the RT/10 came out when I was 13ish I've never wanted anything else. I was even more floored when the GTS arrived and I quickly decided I'd be getting a GTS. There is something really exotic about the RT/10 though. Maybe it's because I see the GTS in my garage every day, but every time I see see one I always stare. Despite both being Vipers, the RT/10 and GTS are such different cars, both beautiful but VERY distinct.

Anyway... it feels great to already own my dream car and get to enjoy it every day (DRIVE it every day). Of course the McLaren F1, Ferrari F40 and 512TR, and most of all the Porsche 959 will always hold a spot in my heart, but I seriously doubt I'd ever be in a place to own any of them.

Black Mamba1 is right... I see SRT's in the distance and think they are Vette's but there is no mistaking the visceral beauty of the GTS.

Final Edition and 96/97 B&W's are the hottest.
