Running the car briskly and came to a stop. The car just died. Tried to restart and it turned over a couple of revs and finnally fired up. Ran fine for an hour and came toanother stop. Died again. This time fired right up on the first rev. Has been running fine since and was running fine prior. Any ideas?

flash is correct. there is a tsb out there for a misfire and other problems. call your local viper dealer and tell them about your problem and they should be more than happy to fix it under warranty (if your dealer likes you!)

Picked up our SSG coupe a few weeks ago from Idaho. When I took it to the local dealer here in Canada to have the daytime running lights acitvated they found the tsb and did the reflash for the engine controller at the same time, no charge.

Had something similar happen on my 2008 and it turned out that my floor mat was preventing me from depressing the clutch pedl fully. The car will not start unless the clutch is almost fully pressed. Sounds stupid, I know, but it may be worth checking just to eliminate this as a possible source of the problem.

Good luck.

I've also experienced this on a few occasions. Died is the right word---not stalled. And the restart is not like a cold start----almost reminds you of vapor lock.

I have had several new 08 models come through the shop. Some indictated this had happened but went away after some miles. Cold weather seemed to be part of it.

scott b what on earth would make you think the cam sensor is bad, there are hundreds of bad sensors that could cause the same problem as well as computer programming which is the likely cause. i think that he needs to simply take the car to his dealer and have the problem covered properly under warranty? the TSB flash covers many many problems including simple things like the throttle response and misfires that could cause the car to die suddenly.

the floor mat does sound like a troubling problem... i can imagine trying to figure out why the car doesn't start for hours only to realize its just a floor mat, that would ****
