im thinking of doing a nitrous set up on my pretty much stock SRT10. i dont want anything crazy. just enough to play around on the street. is a 150 shot safe on a NA stock motor? also i would like the bottle by my seat or pass seat. does anyone have a set up like that to show me?

I think Hp you would be ok but Tq. might get you. Should be safe since its not for extended periods of time but might want to upgrade your half shafts. The 150 shot might put you around 750 tq bhp if your rwhp is 569.

would a 100 shot be better..i just want a small bottle under my seat, that i could turn on everytime someone want to play. i dont want anything complex and i do like my trunk space..

A 'small bottle under the seat' might last 5 seconds.......

I would think 100 shot would be safer but some of the guys running 100-150 shot will chime in. Again, I dont think you will have a problem running a 150 shot as long as your not over doing it (using it every other night type of thing and you upgrade your half shafts).

I think you have been watching too much Fast & The Furious and you want to be Vin Diesel! :lmao: I am pretty sure he flips up the passenger seat to reveal two small bottles. :drive:

Just wait a month, buy an 08 hood and the new Gen 3 Roe blower. :headbang:

I ran 200 shots on numerous Gen 3's. Mine was the nitrous/propane set-up. No problem whatsoever. Would think 150 is super safe, as long as you tune the a/f properly.

I ran a 200 shot on mine for a bit. Bumping it down to a 150. There are some guys that run a 200 shot with no problems, and some that end up having problems. At that level you are rolling the dice. That is an expensive motor to roll the dice with. Look on the post I made about running Nitrous and you will see the dyno graph I made. that TQ comes on hard and instant which is not good for alot of components. I plan to run a 150 with dual bottles once I get home and enjoy the Viper.

Get the NX Nitrous Gemini Kit which comes with all that you need for a good quality Nitrous setup. You canat go wrong with NX. I will be updating the forum when my Nitrous install setup is completed correctly this time with a plate, dual bottle openers, dual bottle warmers, purge, etc. Its going to be killer.

D, without a doubt, you need to call dave of nitro daves. this guy helped me so much with my install i cant begin to tell ya. and he has EVERYTHING you possibly need. unless dave says different, go with NX (nitrous express)

Nitrous Outlet, Complete Nitrous Kits & Nitrous Accessories

its easy to install then ya just need to tune it which is easy too with a dyno and ken up at paddock can easily tune it. maybe even ask him to install it.

Just to give you an idea of what a 200 shot can do on a stock motor Power wise. Here is my dyno graph.

Curious to see what cars have had a probelm with a 200shot, I hear all this talk about limitation but dont really see any cars being blown up. Ive seen paxton guys pushing 690-710whp on stock motor which is alot more than what a 200shot will give you

you can run a 400 shot if its tuned perfectly. its all in the tune but i sure dont wanna push any limits, been there done that.

i personally have seen what a TON of nitrous can do to a forged motor. on nitrous, 856rwtq can do some damage to the cylinder walls and did in my case. granted i ran maybe 40-50 bottles thru it though... :)

The different between the nitrous and a blown motor is the nitrous hits instantly which puts more stress on components. The boost takes a bit to build on a blown motor therefore not stressing it as much. You can see the TQ curve and see what I am talking about, and compare that against a dyno of say a paxton viper. Of course it is recommended to go with a progressive system to prevent the instant hit like that which is pretty much useless anyway due to lack of traction. The guys that are pushing 700rwhp even with the paxton's are pretty much at the limit also without needing to upgrade components. The more you push out of the stock motor, the more likely something may eventually happen. With that said throw the nitrous on there and enjoy it :drive:

I see what you mean by instant power, but S/C usually see a very qucik jump too. And I dont really think that a shot of nitrous at690whp will be more strain on the motor than a S/C setup making 690whp. Im not saying your wrong, just would like to hear more about this.

Is anybody running nitrous with a supercharger with stock internals?
Well it would give you benefits of down low boost lag. but if you are running a 100 shot or more with a supercharger, your engine is on limited time. That is too much stress on the stock engine.

On the street/street tires (not drag radials) you won't need halfshafts. But in a 'sticky' situation, e.g. the track, then you may need to upgrade the shafts.

Guaranteed he will have to upgrade his shafts since once he has traction the shaft or the rear end will do a song and dance.

If you have over 800rwhp when upgrading to the Unitrak 1000hp halfshafts you should also order the billet steel yokes. I have already broke the stock cast iron which is what most people have. I would have saved thousands of dollars if I would have known this earlier. Lucky I had safety loops on the halfshafts. Devon was great to work with.
