Radiator hose question

When I picked up my 97 GTS from a guy in CA, he had told me that he had an aftermarket larger radiator installed in the car. After owning this car for a while now, I've noticed that there is some sort of little bleeder/valve stuck in the middle of the upper radiator hose, and it ****** coolant out of it all the time while I'm driving.
Any idea what it's for, and should I just get a new upper radiator hose to eliminate it?

Explaining Viper things to you
The bleeder should not leak. It is for venting air when servicing the cooling system. Is it a Schrader type valve, like a tire stem? Or a small metal knob/stem with an o-ring below it?

It's the small metal knob kind.
I'm not sure why it's blowing coolant out while I'm driving,

Well I figured I'd just get rid of that old leaky hose and spend a grand on a new stock one today.
Problem solved.
