I have a 2001 GTS mods are as follows, Headers, T&D rollers, Roe super Charger 5lb pulley, Smooth tubes, K&N's. VipAir, B&B exhaust, Random Tech Hi flow cats. Was getting on the gas pretty hard no issues came to a stop sign noticed a little steam coming out of the hood vents- limped it home (few miles) never got over 200deg.
when i founfd the leah it looked like it was rubbing on one of the pulleys. Are the Roe Silicone hoses better than stock? could this be an indicator of a broken motor mount? how do you check for a broken motor mount? How do i clean the crap off my engine?
Thanks, any help is appreciated

No input on the motor mount question, but I have the Roe hoses with the bleeder-valve and I love 'em. They're definitely a high-quality product, I highly recommend them.

Explaining Viper things to you
Roe hoses better than stock? Only in looks, resistance to corrosion and decay, and abrasion.

Broken motor mount clue? Yes.

Checking them? Lift the car enough to get your noggin under there and start jacking the motor via the oil pan. Use a wide piece of lumber to protect. Look for separation. Don't be shy with the jack.

Cleaning the engine? Just like you clean everything else. Hard work, water and citrus degreaser.

Some pics of my motor mount:

Let me know if you want a ROE upper radiator hose. Just Paypal me $15 bucks for the shipping.

The clearance betwen the top radiator hose and the pulley in question is a 1/4" at best. The good thing is that the engine torques to the right. You need to rotate the hose up as close to the pulley bracket as possible. This will give a slight bit more clearance. I put a little piece of Velcro on top of the hose to minimize chafing on the bracket. I look in there every once in a while to check things out. A motor mount would definitely be something to look at. As far as the hoses go. I got 55K out of the first OEM hose. I probably hastened the demise of this hose from the manhandling it got putting the blower on and torqueing the crank bolt. I should have drained more coolant and removed it completely. I expect to get at least that much out of the second OEM hose I put on. I'm not sure how much better the hose needs to be. Personally, I wouldn't want red hoses on our car, but $15 bucks for the Roe hose in this thread.... you can hardly go wrong.

You need to find why it hit the pulley. No hose will stand up for that.

Um, Mike... Did you not just remove that hose because it was weeping out the bleeder? Making that offer just a wee bit tacky?

My top hose started leaking (aka spraying coolant everywhere)...but just some silicone under the bleeder took care of that, actually it was per Sean who said I could do that or they would.

My radiator hose hit the roe pulley also. I couldn't figure out where the drip was coming from. I even replaced the clamp and that didn't work until I looked from the other side of the car and saw the gash underneath the hose. You have to make sure that you twist the hose away from the pulley before you tighten the clamp. It might even be a good idea to put some type of metal ring around the hose there because it is so close to that pulley.

LOL! No I didn't mean it that way, I just figured the guy could get his own O ring and put it on there. I'm sure these ROE hoses are probably ridiculously priced if I paid close to $100 for a stock one, so for the $15 shipping I'm trying to help a brother out:D
