Hey gents. Picked up an 06 VCA coupe (#36 of 50) from Bill P @ Woodhouse! Originally was waiting for an ACR, but with no end in sight, I pulled the trigger on this peach of a car that they had in stock. 298 miles! Beautiful car. Here's a little rundown of how my experience & trip went.

I flew in to Chicago from Tampa @ 8:30pm w/ a planned flight into Omaha @ 9:30pm. Wound up flying out at 2:30am & getting into Omaha at 3:30am. I had a taxi drop me off at the local EconoLodge thinking they had rooms. Of course, I was told they had no vacancies right after the taxi left. :) So I wound up sitting in the Econolodge lobby for a few hours. 7am comes around & I'm getting anxious, so I walk a mile down to the dealership. Met w/ Bill & his team. Very, very friendly folks. Mark Jorgensen answered some technical questions I had & then I was on my way to go get the car 3M'ed. Waited several hours to get that done & left Omaha in the car @ 6pm on Thursday. With all stops, gas, & sleep fit in, I arrived into Tampa @ 2am Saturday. 1500 miles! Unfortunately (and nerve-racking...ly,) my trip consisted of about 75% bad rain and/or wet weather. Throw in a ticket for 8 2in a 70 in the great state of Tennessee & there you go. :D

Back home now. I'll get some pics up soon. Ordered a K&N kit from JonB & have an SCT Programmer from DC w/ a tune on it. Going to do some baseline & after dyno runs. Any feedback on what I should expect from stock & also after the intake/tune?

Thanks guys!

- Matt

Matt,

Was great meeting you and glad to here you made it OK.

The K&N may get you 10hp if your lucky and the tuner will net you about 30 under the curve hp along with better mileage, throttle response and smoother running. I will try to take care of you if you decide to get anything else for the VCA. If not, you are already in great hands with Dan and Jon :2tu:.

Take care buddy and thanks again,

Mark

Matt - congratulations on your purchase. I'm near Clearwater and was considering approaching the Gentlemen at Woodhouse later this year about a Viper.

Your post sounds exactly like a trip I may have to make. Did you get an estimate for shipping? If so, I am curious to know how much.

Thanks & good luck. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

We do shipping at a total LOSS right now with fuel prices so I doubt there will be cheaper "enclosed personal" shipping available. We charge $1.33 per mile you are from us so it is actually 1/2 that per true mile round trip. If I catch someone on a empty back trip this saves even MORE. :2tu:

Hope we can help you out,

Mark

Congradulations and welcome! :2tu: Nice color choice. That would have been my next choice if I was not able to get my current VOI9. Enjoy. :drive:
