the title says it all, on the sixth and final pass, 569 miles i ran a 11.48 @ 124 mph in a stock 08 coupe. i did hit 130 mph on the fastest mph run. this happened at rt66 raceway in joliet il tuesday night. 695ft elevation 64 degrees. there are plenty of witnesses to prove this. this car WILL make a 10 sec pass stock. i met a guy there with a 2001 gts grey that was done by underground racing (supercharged), i forgot his name though. he said he was on this board, maybe he will see this. i know there r alot of non believers out there.

I think the guy you met hangs out on the Viper Alley site. I think he goes by dun4791 or something like that.
Nice driving!!!!

At Milan dragstrip during VOI 10, I turned as 12.12 @127.6 mph in a company car (the purple convert). I only had a 2.05 sixty foot time, so I can attest that a 130 mph is certainly plausible. I have not driven my own '08 convert down the 1/4 more than 6-8 times, with a best of 12.04 @126+, and that was NOT with a very good 60 foot time. Now, as far as sub-eleven second runs, I don't think anyone other than a speed-shifting professional could get into the 10s. MHO only. Jamie could probably do it, and some others, too, but I ain't about to speedshift MY car.

actually the 124mph was the slowest mph (no wheel spin) when u spin the tires you will go faster mph. i went 126.9, 128.1, 128.3, 129.7, 130.1 and 124 the final pass. the fifth pass was a 11.52 @ 130.1 with a 2.06 60 ft. i have noticed a problem with this car that i did not have with the 06, i am spinning into 2nd and third gear which is hurting my et alot.

If I read your message correctly, you have less than 1,000 miles on the car; if that's the case, you're in for a treat when the V10 loosens up.

My '08 Coupe reached puberty at around 3,500 miles: engine tone dropped noticeably (I thought I had punctured the exhaust somewhere) and a very noticeable power increase is evident (feels like an additional 50 BHP on call at 5,000 RPM). I haven't had mine on a track yet but it certainly feels as fast as a mid-11, SS/B '67 Hemi GTX I had back in the day. I suspect it's faster.

Mid-11's right out of the box...comes as advertised. Were you at the top of 3rd at the lights?

At the correct track, on the correct weather day 10s is definately POSSIBLE with an expert level driver going all out (basically how bad do you want to beat on the car to achieve an ET)

Nice numbers.

I'm not sure what's not to believe. With my bone stock 03 after owning it a couple of days I ran 122-123mph several runs in a row without a challenge. With 90hp more, and improved rear end & trans, I'd expect 128mph min on these beasts, 130mph sounds like the max - great job. The challenge is in the ET itself, with traction etc., but your runs sound solid & very believable for some good driving efforts.

yes third gear is at its very end crossing the traps, some passes hitting the rev limiter before finishing

130mph is right in the ZR1 ballpark. Sweet. Strange that you put the slowest of your runs in the title instead of the 11.5 @ 130mph lol. Congrats man thats a 10 sec car if you can hook good in all gears.

Thats still a big difference in MPH. I've had some tractionless cars that never varied that much. I wonder if these cars loose significant HP when they get warm? I remember seeing some dyno numbers which varied by ~25whp between cold and hot, and I couldn't help but think the ECU was doing something past a certain coolant temp.

Either way, those are awesome results. 130mph out of a stock car in September weather is great!

Damn, those are some crazy numbers.

I'd love to see one of these run at Commerce if anyone in the Atlanta area has an '08 they're taking to the track :D

This is my timeslip from a bone stock 08 Track Experiance Car at Milan For VOI. This car is easily a 10 sec car on some cheated up stock tires ( Similar to what they do to the stock apearing muscle cars ) By the way .. I'm the 11.56 :)

Ive had well bolted on 99 RT10 ( 450 rwhp) and a lightly bolted on 2003 SRT10 ( 480 rwhp SAE)

According to my lil FX2 timer wich I verified for acurateness at an actual drag strip..

The RT10 could run consistent 12.1's at 120 mph and the SRT10 could run consistent 12.0's at 122 mph..Both got 11's on more than a few runs...

I currently have a POS supercharged NSX and was about to trade it on a supercharged vert SRT10(03-06)...I figured 128-132 mph trapps off a stock vert on 6 psi from a paxton would be great.....

But after reading this HOLY **** I have to get a 2008 now...Consistent 127-130 mph trapps.....Holy mother of God..

I thought hennessy's claim of 133-138 mph with just bolt ons was BS...But now I beleave him and I beleave in the 2008 Viper...

Man my broke ass is gonna have to find a way to put one of these beaste in my garage

From SMOKEmUP.com ,Weather DA auto lookup, the corrected NHRA time to sea level for that run is as follows :
08/29 13H14 Milan Dragway Temp 77f, Baro 29.26,Elevation 600ft, DA 2221 ft
11.27@ 133.269 mph
This has to be the fastest time so far! Congrats!

Aren't you guys shifting to 4th right at the end of the 1/4 mile? If so, that makes the trap speeds even more impressive!

The time was a correctled to sea level time.(correction factors are approximated for altitude and weather- no where near exact )For example last week E Smith ran 11.3 at 128.7 actual time .If corrected to sea level using weather conditions as well run would be approx 11.0

Wow. about 130mph. Right up there with the GT2 Porsche and ZR1 for much less mulah. Thats 10 sec mph right there folks. I can only imagine how fast the 08's will go at a track like Rangers.
