With the blinker on they still have a yellow appearance...

The instructions are simple and come with the package. My recommendation is to follow them, especially the part about using a hair dryer. It heats up the vinyl so it can mold over the curved edge of the light. That helps give the clean look.

This might be a little more than you want to do... I used a "dremel" and ground off the raised lettering on the tail light lens. The raised letters look a little funny after the film is applied. It looks a lot cleaner with letters removed under the film. The film covers any sanding marks left by removing the letters. Takes a few minutes with the dremel. All the small bumps and bubbles will come out after a day in the sun.

I then used "Bats" head/tail light smoke overlay (lighter version)kit over the top of the "red-out" film. Turned out great... IMHO

I've got these red outs on my RT/10 also. They look great, i'm thinking about gettting the tinted ones though? hmm?
