If GM/Chrysler merge...what happens to Chuck's dealership status??? Does this mean he'll start selling/servicing GM vehicles? I hope Chuck comes out of this deal OK. :dunno:

Hopefully Chuck even knows? That'd be ALOT of business for sure though.
(Didn't I read though they wanted to 'keep' their own distinctive dealerships?) ~juli

Not to sound pessimistic but in the overall big picture I'm sure GM wouldn't even blink to close most of the Chrysler dealerships. They would look at certain criteria and measureables then just start chopping. They would have way too much redundancy and the first things to go are what GM already has.

Work to have it secured as a national historic site. The downside is it could not be altered. Then again who would wanto to? GTS Bruce

I sure hope Chuck comes out of this better then he is now. But, I remember back in the day when I was friends with the owner of a Chevy dealer, that Chevy (at least) was very big on building big super dealerships usually located on large roads and near highways for high traffic. My friend had one of the older store front dealers, but he was known (NJ) for moving a large number of Vettes.

So, it really depends on who would end up running the Dodge division should this merge/buyout ever happen.

Explaining Viper things to you
When the men in the black suits driving the black cars with the limo tint windows show up to tell Chuck he's finished, they'll tuck their tails and run when from behind a fog will emerge a fearless man wearing a blue cape and pointed hat.

Well, that and the Lifetime NRA Member signs strewn around the landscaping...

Around these parts the talk is that GM really only wants the Jeep lineup. It it true? Time will tell. Remember when Chrysler bought American Motors? What did they keep? JEEP. And what will become of the Freightliner Sprinter which is made by Chrysler LLC?

I might as well tell you all now, I just bought the Viper division from Chrysler and I'm flying out this weekend to hang a picture of the "Wizard" in the front room! :headbang: BUT I'm having trouble with the line workers! They all wont wear a blue pointed hat! :dunno:

Then a new campaign would have to be started to Save Tators! :drive:

It seems to me that since Chuck's business seems to be primarily based on servicing and modding the cars and not car sales that the worst case scenario is a name change to Tator's Performance Center, LLC. Perhaps the merged entity would even authorize him to do warranty repairs on all the performance cars offered by the merged entity. Wouldn't all the people in the tri state area currently bringing their Viper's to Chuck still bring them there?
