The ACR lookalike on the other thread had a big thick red stripe on the black rim and a few of you didn't like that. But I just had some extra red electrical tape, so I did my version of the driver's stripe (only the left wheels were done) to see if a thinner stripe would compliment the other red parts well. I'll leave the electrical tape on for a few days before deciding whether this is something I want to do. What do you guys think?

Since you are asking opinions, I like the paint combo, really do not like the wheels. Just my **.

Although I don't like black rims, I think the red stripes sets it off nicely...adding to the red stripe on the car. I would have that done permanently if I were to keep the black rims...but that's just me.

I think it would look nice on a standard coupe since it adds a little flair, but a race inspired car that is this raw looks better just black.

geez, now everyone is sticking tape on their vipers... a much much much better idea is to have u're SRT lettering on the rim painted in red.. it would accentuate your viper extremely well ....The srt lettering on the sidewinder is a lot larger than on the H rim and it would show up very very nicely on a black rim...

I like the stripe.......100% Remonds me of the old Redline tires, now in reproduction for Musclecars

but I also like the Black/Red Forgelines!
They can be made with a red outer as below, solid or transparent red, or just a stripe.

Personally I would not go with the thin stipe around the wheel. Cheap and ghetto I feel. I am not a fan of all black wheels either, as I prefer polished, silver or chrome, however break out a few more rolls of red tape and turn the entire rim red. It would look better in my opinion and hark back to 95/96 with those wild Viper rim colors and most race cars have colored rims anyway.

A black ACR with red strip and red rims would look pretty hot. Again, my opinion. Tape doesn't cost much, try it out.

Painting the ACR lettering in RED is a GREAT idea and probably I can even do it myself as I have already done that on a shiftknob. Just fill in the lettering w/ red paint and wipe off the excess. Is there any trick in doing this?

Well, I have an ACR in the exact same colours as yours - black with a red drivers stripe. I've thought about the red stripe on the wheels and now that I see it I think it looks terrible. I love the black wheels - it's all part of the 'evil' look to me. I don't think that black rims would look good on my '04 Vert. It's just not evil enough.

I like the idea of the SRT highlighted in red. That might look cool!?

I'm in my very late 40's so chrome appeals to me but I've slowly updated my ideal to darker rims. However, if the 80's ever come back I'll be all over the chrome look again!

Well those colored rims on that Challenger are F$%K-Ugly to start with before they even painted them. Put the factory slots back on the car but painted in yellow with chrome center hub caps and beauty rings and they would look awesome.

Personal taste I guess. I just don't like that ghetto look in any color or chrome. 5 of 6 spokes are all I cna handle usually. Older muscle cars, the factory slots looked real good though.
