Michelin PS2's vs. Nitto Invo's

From a traction perspective backed with experience which do you prefer? I went with the Invo's because they were $400 cheaper and I like the tread pattern. I can't wait to get them in place of the runcraps. Regardless they will be much better than what's currently on the car.

This isn't even a competition... the PS2's are some of the best tires out there right now. The Invo's aren't too bad - I ran them on a previous car, but they aren't anywhere near the PS2's.

I've heard in a straight line the Invo's may actually hook a little better, but the PS2 still dominates in turns.

I have the Nitto NT-01's on another car and they are great, but the Nitto Invo's are just a luxury car tire - quiet and comfortable. One the shops that I work with ran the Invo's in their shop EVO, and after one track day, they got rid of the tires. Enough said.

I didn't click on the poll because my experience is on the longevity of the PS2s. I have over 12,000miles on my PS2s and they have more than 50% tread left on them.

You might want to check and see if there is something wrong with your accelerator pedal. It doesn't look like you have access to all 100% like I do. My PS2's don't look like they will make it to 10,000 miles.

Never tried the Invo's but the new Nitto NT05 will be out in February with a lot of different size options. A R compound tire that will be available in the 19" size-335/30ZR19. The UTQG is 200 so it may not be a real sticky tire. It probably will stick better than the invo.

I have the 19" Cups on the rear and they are a sticky tire-but in these cool weather days they need a lot of warm up.

I have the Nitto Invo and love them on my supercharged coupe, they hook on the street and track. Plus the ride quality is 100 times better. I will say the handling is not as aggressive but no more wheel hopping either when the throttle is slammed to the floor.

I had the 20" Invo's and am now running the new PS2 ZP. I can tell you this tire ***** in the cold. probably the same with the invo but I never ran it in the cold. in the warmer weather, my sotp feel is that the PS2 ZP hooks just a tad better. I however, just ordered a new set of 19" wheels and plan on going with the cups or R6's. Just not sure yet.

I have the Invo nitto's on my Ferrari 512TR and they seem to work well plus they are real quiet. As far as performance goes, not sure, but I am thinking Michelins are better. Im not tracking the car so the nittos do fine for me.

So I'm restarting this thread after a couple of months. Spent some time searching, can't find much info on VCA.org where someone has given a relatively in-depth assessment of the INVO's vs PS'2. The poles obviously favor the PS2's.

I'm specifically looking for comparisons on straight line acceleration traction. I do see PS2's favor the curves, and INVO's favor ride quality.

Anyone had them both and can provide some good feedback? Would appreciate it greatly! Thanks!

I can give an update with the Invo's but I can't compare them to the PS2's because I've never tried them. I'm definitely happy with them over the runflats and have absolutely no wheel hop anymore. Next time I will pay the 400 dollars more and go with the PS2's just to compare for myself...but that may be a couple of years down the road with as little as I drive my car (not by choice I travel for work and car stays at home).

I would like to see these compared with the new KUMHO XSs. Are they actually better than the PS2's? If so that is a bargain because they are cheaper than they are.

I'm not sure but I think those are only available for an 18 inch rim, but I would check to make sure.

I have the nittos on my 03 and my buddy has the ps2 on his 05. The invos are much better hooking in straits not to sure about the turns yet. So far i love them.

From my basic research and from those I have spoken to, it seems that "for the money", the Invos are great tires. The key term here is "for the money." They are a Z rated tire but they're also limited by a W rating, which means they are not recommended over 154 mph. If you don't plan on going that fast, they seem to be great straight away tires. The PS2s are better cornering tires. If money is not an issue, I have yet to be told to not go with the PS2s over the Invos. If money is an issue, you really can't go terrible wrong with the Invos.

I just ordered the INVO's from my 01 as it has 20's and it will not see the track. I will stay with the M's on the 04 as it is in stock trim.. I have yet to run the INVO's so I cant tell you if I will like them
