A few folks have recently asked questions on the 6 point install and wanted pictures, I just put these in my new 08 today, works for all Gen III's and IV's. (Had them in my '06 coupe). Took a number of pictures, hope this helps or convinces you to do-it-yourself. (I also did a 1" seat lower kit (driver) I'll try to post that somethime too.

Here's the hardware and belts, buy a TORX bit, (this same bit is also used if you change the seat bracket for a lowering kit.)

They say you can do this with the seats in place but I think it's easier with them out. If you take them out step #1 is to disconnect the battery, use a power drill with the correct TORX bit or you'll be worn out before you get the battery disconnected.

Team_tech_1_a.JPG

Step #2 is to disconnect the electrical connectors at the back of the seat. Gen IV's have two (the big box is new). Two seat bolts rear, two front.

Step #3, I'll pull the plastic plate out to avoid tearing it up. these frames are heavy and tear up all plastic.

This is when I wish I was doing this in a convertible viper! You guys got it easy!

Team_tech_1.JPG

Step #4, I found that turning the seat slowly and taking it out by the seat bottom pointed inward is the easiest way in a coupe, watch the frame on the plastic, recline the seat medium before you begin to lift out

With the seat out now install the eye bolts

Step 1, pry the cover off behind the seat, I use a small flat blade screwdriver, book calls for a trim stick. comes off fairly easy

team_tech_4.JPG

Once you remove you'll see 2 pieces of foam backed tape that cover the holes for the eye bolt, pull tape and screw in the eye bolts;

Here's what the back of the plastic cover looks like;
(buying used, look here and see if belts were in the viper)

Here is the eye bolts installed and one shoulder belt connected;

Now you install the TORX bolts for the lap belts and lap harness.

I'll start with the exhaust side. Some guys use the factory belt bolt, don't do that use the factory 6 point set up.

Reach behind the exhaust tip and you'll feel the sleeve the bolt goes into. Laying flat on the floor you can see it too. Take an awl and poke it throught the hole into the car. (This one is the hardest to find if you don't go this route, first time I dug around to find and it took a long time!).

Here's a picture with the awl in the hole pointing inward to the interior

team_tech_8.JPG

When you feel the tip come through the carpet, pull the carpet back, then get an exacto knife, razor blades, etc. You need to cut out a bunch of insulation to find the bolt hole. Use rubber gloves if you can so you won't get the material on your skin.

Here's the interior view of the awl;

team_tech_9.JPG

Once you've dug out the insulation materials out of the area around the bolt hole, lay he carpet back and cut a "X" in the carpet for the bolt, then install the lap belt and the front harness.

Next bolt is across on the transmission tunnel, take a look at the picture for the spot, 1" behind the seat bracket and 3" up.

team_tech_111.JPG

Feel around the area, there is a bolt already in the mounting hole. Once you feel it cut the carpet with a blade, then take this bolt out, I think it's a 9/16th. Here's the bolt;

Last picture, belts installed, make sure you try them before you do the final tightening. Sit on the floor and clip them together to make sure their in correct. If all OK then put the seat back in.

Nader, I first debated changing to a red/black ACR clone, spray the hood/roof/rear deck black, mask off a red drivers stripe, then powercoat my sidewinder wheels. Mike V in Vegas (1 of 1 winner) will tell you I spent hours on a rainy day @ Willow Springs looking at his. ViperX would tell you that with the two side by side my red/silver looked very good. After I got the '08 I put in the red mamba interior (from my '06). When you opened the drivers door the mamba and the black stripes looked real good, so then I thought about just painting the wheels black. Then, I had the two side by side, 06 and 08, and decided to go back to red/silver. I'm also going to paint it like my '06 when I tapered the stripes for the '08 hood. So, I'll widen the roof stripes about 1 1/2" or 2 ", then taper the hood stripes to match the roof. Down the road I'll add the aero either from cloned ACR parts or go the comp coupe route that Mark @ Woodhouse has done. After all that's done I'll probably find a smokin deal on a white/blue/blue ACR and buy that.

One quick question, how do you disable the alarm for the stock seatbelt when using the harnesses?

I think the owner's manual adresses how to do it?

the first time I went to the track, I slid it over the seat back and clipped in in.

Now I just leave it off, if you're at a road course you won't here the chime.

BTW, I bought new torx bolts that 'carriage bolt' style where the threads do not go all the way to the head so the harness bracket can swivel. They are the same as the seat belt bolts. part # 6036512AA

Does anyone have a picture of the car with seat installed and harnesses buckled so I can see the routing of the sub belt? I assume sit on the sub belt with straps between legs and seat, then you pull it up in the center to buckle?
I am about to install the team tech 6 points in my ACR, they have been sitting in my office for over a week now, just making sure I have the right idea.

David, your correct in what you wrote you sit on the belt and the center comes between your legs to your croutch.(sorry don't have a picture). Before you completely tiighten the sub belts down, make sure the belts are in corectly and don't fold over between the bolt hole and the underside of your leg. Mike

Do you know the size thread of the eye bolts used to connect the should belts to the rear bulkhead? I am working on a custom Schroth setup since I dont want a 5 or 6 point.

I was going to use the Schroth 4 point ASM belts but the color wasn't right for my Viper so I'm now selling them. PM me if interested. Color is blue and newer really used them and they have no wear marks, no stains, no nothing on them.

I was looking for the real mounting holes but I think they are being blocked by the roll bar install. Will have to have DC check it out.

Please consider me challenged....

I'm installing my Team Tech belts today and I can't get the large electrical connector undone - the one with the red slider. I'm doing the passenger side first so the one behind the passenger seat.

I've even tried pliers and I thought I'd ask here before I do something I'll regret.

I've positioned the slider 'out' and I expect the connector to come apart with a gentle tug. I've even tried pliers without success.

Am I missing something? Is there a second catch on the connector that I'm just not seeing?

Thanks for any help.

DUH!

I guess I was having a brain fart - I got it now. It seems so easy once you have it figured out!

For those that are also mid brain fart - slide the red slider then push down on the release under it. Jeez - it's simple. I guess I figured that the slider itself was the catch so I didn't notice the catch underneath it. That's the first time I've disconnected that particular type of connector.

Greg, I know the frustration, I've pulled the seats a few times and swaped out the interior 3 times in two differenct gen III's. some of the console connections and other connectors can drive you crazy. Glad to hear to yougot it disconnected. Mike

I'll start with the exhaust side. Some guys use the factory belt bolt, don't do that use the factory 6 point set up.

Looks like the 6 point mounting hole on my car is blocked by the roll bar so I'll have no choice but to use the factory belt bolt. I purchased a bolt kit that came w/ longer lap belt bolts and will be using these. What is the order of belt bucket that should go into the bolt? Starting from inside out, sub-factory-lap???
