z06 is a handfull with 08 vert

my friend has a 08 z06 when it was stock we have played on a closed course of course and from 65 to say 140 i would just pull away from him,now he installed a cold air intake,computer upgrade and now were basically side by side

that car is faster with just to simple mods

Well... there's a computer upgrade for the Viper as well. Install that and try again.

i have been thiking of the belanger upgrade but its $5500 and he only spent 900 cant justify that for the time being on the $ but in the meantime were still like kids and having fun

dont worry--you guys are still close, and when you drive down a public road--his car fades into a sea of sheep as bunches of people point and stare at yours---not sure if its vanity or not, but it feels good driving a viper down the road at any speed

Yep no doubt they fly, and are cheap to make faster but at the end of the day its still a Vette. This coming from a Z06 owner trying to get into a Viper

Yeah, the Z is a good 250 lbs lighter and better gearing. If u look at the lb/hp and throw in his mods and gearing advantage, you will see why u two are so close. The Gen 4 is a monster in a straight-jacket. Remove the jacket (get K&N, and full Belanger exhaust, maybe even add 3:33's) and you will unleash the beast and walk the snot of of that Z, and its big brother, the Zr1.

at the end of the day im the winner,especially that ssg paint just shinning in the sun.damn i love this car and the comfort of the seats,i drive in my diablo for a few hours or my 06 vette and my back is killing me,the viper seats are just perfect.

Plain and ugly is cheap... just visit the local nudie bar, and see who makes the most money!

Viper computer upgrade is about $1400... dunno if you absolutely need the belanger to see an improvement, but wouldnt hurt to ask.

Race controller for 2008 / 09 lists at $1159.00. Received mine today.

Belanger headers came in a couple of days ago. Should be at Cragin's next week for the install. Nowhere near $5500.00

Want a quick way to walk your Vette buddy - install a set of 26 inch tall tires on the rear of your car. This will lower your overall gear ratio enough to make a difference.

I lowered my car and run 18's on the rear of my 09 and other SRTs.

Yeah but that like saying "who cares about speed, at least I'm more rare".

Then again it appears many on the Z06 forum as well as here only care about image.

That said both are great cars. :2tu:

The Z06 is a great car, but neither the Z06 nor the ZR1 are offered in convertible versions.
For me that's a big WIN right there!

Especially being as fast as he is with your rare, stylish Viper convertible compared to his modified Z06 coupe.
