I am going to try and post the Video of my 10 second run and my 11.02 run as the guy who did the video just sent me a link. Some people have asked about my driving technique, well here it is! He mostly focused on the leave but his narration will give you an idication of the run, he was actually racing his Z06 in between filming. There was a big headwind that day accounting for all the noise is one of the video's.

A MUST FOR VIEWING! Click the HD button in the video box when you open the link to really be able to see and here the video.

Too funny ,but just a few weeks ago didnt one of those very same computer benchracers call you a VETTE poser who probably would never own a Viper.

Congrats! A question though, how is it that you ran 10s in a bone stock z06 with 95 less horsepower but can't turn a faster time with the 600 hp viper? Also when I took mine to the strip (supercharged) I had severe traction problems. I'm running ps2's. Do I need slicks, then what about breaking stuff? Is spinning the tires beforehand a big must to warm up the tires?

Thanks! Several reasons actually, first off weather conditions play a big role as do track conditions and the Z06 is really light over 300 pounds less than the Viper and rwhp is probably only about 60 or 70 difference and the weight difference brings the cars power to weight pretty close. Then you have the biggest difference IMO and thats gearing, the Viper has 3.07 gears and the Z has 3.42 so launching the Z is much, much easier therefor the reason the Z runs such good times. When judgeing a cars performance you can talk about eachs best run, but a more accurate comparison would be each cars average of all good runs they make and I think the Viper is probably a couple tenths and couple of mph faster when both cars are being driven at their maximum. And if you were to calculate how much hp it takes for a car to get that much of an advantage at those et's and mph's in the 1/4 mile, because 2 tenths and 2 mph when running high 10's at close to 130 mph is a lot, I think you would see it is exactly the difference in hp to weight that both advertise. Its takes more practice and skill to drive a viper IMO because of the gearing and torque, but like anything once you get it down it will run the number. As far as your car, you will be limited by a couple of factors and thats your skill level and traction, supercharged cars can be tricky as my GTS was supercharged and I do think DR's make it easier to drive, but I did routinely run high 10's in the 131, 132 range on Pilots in mine. So I guess practice is all you need.

I have owned at least about 12 vipers since 1996 and raced everyone of them but 1, so I think it would be a little hard for someone to make that claim stick! I don't want to beat a dead horse because those posers who talked, they know who they are and obviously know now they were the only ones with an agenda, not me! So as a famous figure once said: Can't we all just get along?

JEEZ! That Supra was smooookin' !!:D

Jamie, congrats bro! Amazing time for a stocker, that should hurt a few ZR1 ego's:D

BTW, are you the guy with the blue C6 Z06 that was running with us at the MIR 'mini rental' ealier in the month? If so, I'm the guy driving the Black Supra (the same one in the video) who was chatting with you at the track. Anyhow, way to go brotha...looks like we both came home with what we wanted and I didn't go thru the 1/8th mile traps *backwards* @ 110mph like the mini rental...LOL. :crazy2:

~ Kayvon

PS; Bring out your GT40 on our next one! I'd LUV to see that one run... :D

My Z06 buddy WalterM3 (Mike) is the one who took all the video's that day and he also happened to kick my ass on our only run. I hope to have a chance to make that up to him one day! :D It might be hard though as he is one helluva driver himself and from all the video's I have been watching a helluva track videographer also. For all the Viper guys who hate Corvettes if Mike wasn't there filming I wouldn't have any video of the record Viper passes, so it ends up being a Corvette guy who documented the fastest stock Viper run ever! How Ironic! I don't know if Mike actually considers himself a Corvette guy? He drives a Z06 so maybe he is? But either way, the way I see it is when we all get to a track it doesn't matter what we bring because racers are racers no matter what we drive.

Incredible runs Jamie. You can really drive, that's for sure. Your message is spot on also. The best way to stop bench racing is to go to a track and run them. Then people will actually see how much is driver and how much is car. Jamie, you're a class act and very good for motorsports in general. Great work
