I would be looking to fly in and drive this home. I currently have a c5 vette and I'm looking to "upgrade" by adding this to my stable. I've sat in a 2007 viper but I haven't had a chance to sit in one of these are there aren't any around me so those of you who have sat in a c5 and a gen2 is there more room or about the same? Does anyone know who this used to belong to and if they were a member here? Is this a fair price? thanks in advance.

If you don't mind the mileage, go for it! You should be able to get him to come a couple of grand off of that price because I'm sure he got it dirt cheap. Average mileage for that year is between 15-30. Oh and BTW I would love to see the 2007 you sat in! LOL just messing with you. They didn't make a Viper in 07 ;)

They didn't hmm I must have been mistaken all i know was it was a gen 3 with a copper color and a removable roof to which the windshield came directly to the top of my forehead and I think they wanted 70k for it as it was used. This was back in jan or feb of 07.

Thanks for the info so far guys, I don't mind the mileage. He was able to come down on the price but the fact that it says it has a lien, duplicate title, and the odometer this just bugs me a little. Also i ran another report on it with another car report site which has an update that says it was just ought at auction in oct of last year so I don't think he has had it for that long.

Owned a C5 and have driven two Gen II Vipers. Both were GTS models, not RT/10 so there may be differences. I'm 5'10" and my head 'just' cleared the roof on the hardtop models. Shouldn't be a problem with the roadster. As far as where the windshield comes to vs. your head, not sure. You can purchase kits to lower the factory seats by 1 to 2 inches. In terms of general space, the C5 was more expansive and the Viper feels more like it wraps around you. I found this to be a selling point for the Viper. Likewise, fit and finish were better than the C5. Of note - there are no cheap electrical gimmicks and gadgets on the Viper like tire pressure, DIC, HUD, etc to fail. I find that extremely appealing since mine was bouncing back and forth to the shop since the day it first left the lot.

Good luck with your purchase! :2tu:

WHOA wait a second! If there are issues with the title I would stay away until they get resolved. Can you elaborate on the issues? $hit I wouldn't give him over 20K for the car if the odometer has been messed with and it is on the title. That $hit never comes off (to the best of my knowledge) and it will make the resale value of the car plummet.

It looks like that RT has a lot of nice upgrades (carbon airbox is NICE!). It's a nice looking car for sure.

For those who call 4300 miles per year high you need to drive your cars more. It's an absolute crime to leave such a beast of a car in captivity like that. ;)

There's a photo of the car with a top and then many other photos with a rollbar installed. Does that top really fit over the rollbar?

Yes this is Scotty's old car and personally i would not buy it. It has been driven HARD, very hard over the years. It used to have a large NOS shot on the car years ago but was removed. It doesnt mention anything about the Heads and Cam the car had so im not sure if it was removed or if its still in there, i know the guy who bought the car fuxored something up in the engine and had to have some stuff repaired.
With the heads/Cam the car was fast, somewhere in the 540rwhp range. But for the price and the history don't be surprised if there are some gremlins hiding in there.

you have any info on what happened to the car or what was done to it after it was sold or who the new owner was and if he's a member here?

I think they might be thinking after Scotty, but in either case, look the car over and UNDER with your own eyes. Good luck :2tu:

Wasss up viper doods,
4 sure that's my ol baby. I can only guess the kid had it repo'd and auctioned.
Either case, I was never happy with the big cam's drivability in conjunction
with the VEC2. My advice is to put the ol 708 cam back on and be happy
with 500 +- RW. The head work is mint along with tons of top quality parts
from mgw to balenger/corsa. I do question the body/paint finish:confused:
under $30 seem like a steal. Almost want it back. Lots of Nos run through it,
but not since the heads/cam work. The kid before totally beat the snot of out
it for sure. A quick drive to ensure all is good and the Trans is key.
Hope to hook up with the rest of u clowns with summer with a new
IN UR FACE toy:eater:
When the weather breaks, stop by the shop.
