I don't know anything about hot street bikes but I probably should learn.

On ramp on to the freeway I took on a street bike with my paxton viper. He passed me at about 100 like I was tied to a tree. He was two lanes over and it was so loud I couldnt hear my own car at 6000 RPM with Corsa while shifting. This thing sounded like an F1 car at 14,000 RPM. It was pretty incredible. I be he went to 160 before he slowed.

note to self; don't play with these super bikes.

Probably not a Ducati if it was beating his SC'ed Viper. Ducatis are like two-wheeled Ferraris, they are very nice vehicles but the lower cost examples are usually faster.

I did the same thing with a super bike.

We both got to about 180 I was slightly ahead of him before we both had to slow down.

He asked..... what in the hell do you have in that thing?

I said a Honda Civic motor........ stock!

Thats why I bought myself a GSX1300R Hayabusa, it tops out at 210mph and runs the 1/4 mile way up here at our 7500ft altitude track @ 10.60 @133mph NA :D the car runs it at 12.50 @ 115mph on pump gas. I need to get some N2O runs on race gas sometime soon for both :headbang:

if it had a turbo and a lot of them do now, its a no brainer.

im yet to get beat by one but i know its gonna happen soon. none of the ones i have run have been turbo'd obviously.

from 60 - 160 unless your car is putting down 800rwhp + you have to be lucky to beat a 1000 bike

Yes,my Dynoed Ducati will smoke my Viper,so what? Coming home on the interstate from Mopars at the Battleship last wk-end cars would race up, snap pictures, speed up to get a different angle, snap more pictures, both sides if it was a three lane. Sometimes I think the general population understands our Vipers better than us, now lets get back to turbocharging talk

I recently went to Tire Kingdom with my wife for new shoes for her car. There is a kid working there who rides a GSX1000. He claims he was never smoked by a bike until he ran my DLM beast. Like Phil said you need at least 800 ponies to smoke a modern rice rocket. I almost lost one time when I had 12lbs of boost and 854rwhp to a new CBR1000. A quick trip down to DLM for a new pulley and tune and from that point on the car never missed a beat or the chance to smoke a Busa.

Thanks Doug

Was it a Ducati?

Flash
no chance it was a ducati...wouldn't sound like a f1 at 14000 rpm's

ducati's are twin cam so they sound like harleys, would sound like a wide open viper before a f1 sounding vehicle

all *** bikes are four cylinder...rev high, and sound great up at those rpms...had to be one of those.

i used to have an yzf r1 (1000), which was mostly stock, and i'm sorry to say my rt/10 wouldn't stand a chance...heck, not much would hang with that bike!

I own both - a stock Viper will get blown away by a stock superbike. Ducati - depends on the model - the superbike model, (999 or 1098) - yes. These are 9-10 second machines. You can catch up to them on the top end. The stock superbikes are done at 165-185 mph. Yes you can beat them if you have a well sorted 800+hp Viper.

Any A hole can buy a bike.....Big deal....Not to offend anyone here...Al

*** does "who can buy one got to do with what is fast"

I own a '08 Viper coupe and a '08 Honda CBR1000rr. Both stock. The bike will smoke the car in the 1/4 "how about high 9's at 150mph. Above 150 the Viper will pull the bike.

I love bikes. I've been riding since i was 19. I've owned GSX-R750S, Yamaha R1s, Hayabusas, RC-51, plus more. I started getting into amateur roadracing (CCS) back in 2000. A high powered bike + a skilled rider is very hard to beat! Most a-holes you see on bikes can't really ride worth a damn.

I just love the feeling of accelerating (and even hard braking) on sportbikes. There's just nothing like it...the sound...the front wheel skimming the pavement or in the air...the wind...knee puck sliding on the pavement. IT'S INTOXICATING! The danger element + pure speed...OMG it's what I live for.

:D

The last two quotes are why a lot of us get into these machines - it's a great country we live in where we can buy portable amusement centers for relatively little money. :)

The opposite of the feelings described by these two poets are lights in the rear view mirror. :( It's why I can't enjoy these machines to the hilt all the time but I'll look out for the right moment while I still can. :devlook:

been riding bikes my whole life and raced as a kid. the only reason i dont have one now is to turbo a bike is cheap (compared to modding a viper) and id be doing that in a heartbeat if i had a bike now. i can only handle ONE modded machine at a time

I've been ripped by a bike in my neighborhood when I was leaving on to the main road. It was ugly.

I really don't get bothered by bikes. As mentioned any ***** can buy a bike and be fast. I also have never met a guy who bought a bike who didn't (wrongly) think it was primarily for picking up girls. I am sure they are out there, but I haven't met them.

If it truly sounded like an F1 and was a nice looking bike it was probably an MV Agusta F4. Did it look like the bike in the new Batman movie?

x2 most bikes start to run out of steam around 150-160mph. If the guy riding the bike stays in it you will start to pull him up top.

I own an 08 Viper and 08 R6. The R6 is quicker to 130-140 but after that the Viper starts to show its fangs.:2tu:

My guess....1000cc Japan bike with mid pipe, slip on, power commander III, and a small shot of fun juice (25-40 shot):omg:

Yes, 600s run out of steam around 150mph. But anything 1000cc and up should continue to pull hard well past 150mph. ESPECIALLY Hayabusas! I kept my Hayabusa (2000) stock and that thing would pull like a bat out of hell all the way to the redline in 6th. It's also somewhat rare to find an unmodified Hayabusa...there are really some disgustingly fast busas on the streets these days. Wont find too many if any cars that'll beat them. Then if you do...you probably wont find a car that can maintain that level of performance all day without breaking something.

An MV Agusta used for something other than posing and riding to Starbucks? :lmao:

it's a totally different machine. It's like saying, "well, my plane can go faster than your viper.."

Yup, that's my thought as well.

Still don't understand the statement that just cause anyone can afford a bike makes it less deserving of being fast. I didn't think a Viper was an elitist car.

The guy that made that statement about the bike probably can't ride one and he's just jealous. Even my Harley will outrun my ACR up to about 100 but the Harley has a JIMS 131 motor in it too. Both the bike and the car are tons of fun but different animals. Just be careful all of you and don't run over me on my bike while you're street racing. Taking it to the track is a better option guys. It takes lots more cajones to resist street racing than it does to give in to the urge. If there's no money, no trophy, and no crowd cheering when you win, what did you just prove except that you might have killed somebody or torn up your car?

Never seen nor heard the D16RR have you?

ducati's are twin cam so they sound like harleys,

Wrong for a few reasons

would sound like a wide open viper before a f1 sounding vehicle

Wrong again

Honda RC and Suzuki TL are just 2 of the *** twins.

Thank you, try again.

Some of the rice rocket bikes have such and amazing power to weight ratio, it is unreal how fast they pick up speed. I sold my 1300 GSXR Hayabusa a while back, but to do this date it is the scariest thing I have ever driven. Still, I would take my viper in a heartbeat over the busa. Two totally different animals...
