GTSR? That's a fantasy, not a car. It's so rare that it can't even be considered as a choice. It's like the original Viper roadster concept car. Although it was the beginning and desired by all hotblooded Males over the entire World, it doesn't count.

Production builds is what is being discussed? so my Sapphire/silver can only be picked in consideration of how it left the factory, right?

My Roe supercharged 800+rwtq, lightweight 14" brakes, bluetooth, Billet 1 piece VR1 wheels and track Corsa exhaust can't be included since MY Sapphire/silver is one of one (although Bill Pemberton had a Sapphire/Silver that was identical to mine before I upgraded it).

One of the rarest is the Sapphire with silver stripes. there was 49 Sapphire/silver striped ACRs built in 01. However, there were only 37 sapphire/silver non-ACRs. So figure half of those were GTS and half were RT10s. That's about 18. Only a couple of those were Connelly interiors.

Ted

As a fellow Sapphire/Silver owner (non-ACR), I wish those numbers were correct. However, here are the actual numbers (from the Viper registry).

GTS w/silver stripes - 86 made (I don't see the breakdown of black interior vs. cognac for just the GTS w/silver)
ACR w/silver stripes - 49 made

RT/10's were not available with factory stripes (252 solid blue made)

Red with white hood vents. 1 of 1.

:eater:

Of course like I said before, that's because I own it that I say it's the rarest.

And like is so obvious now, as has been every time it gets asked, the most desirable color combo is the one you own!

It's a well known fact that the reason they did not make as many sapphire cars is that they were not as desirable as red.

Now in hindsight people think that does make them desirable, which is a stupid reason to pick a color.

Personally it all depends on what one considers "desirable." Personally, the only way you could see me driving a red GTS is if it's one of the gold wheel or yellow wheel cars. If you can find one, try looking for one of the 3 white/blue GTSs. I believe it is a '96 model, and 6 or so were built....the other 3 bit the dust for crash testing purposes. If I am wrong about this info, I would prefer being corrected than sued. :)

When Maurice Liang wrote the "Viper Buyers Guide" and could put any Viper, of any year on the cover what did he choose?
'Nuff said.......
Everybody knows the 96-97 B/W's are the top of the list.

:)... And I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the car on the cover is his.

You don't need production numbers or paint combinations to have a rare and desirable GTS...it's a Viper and I love them all. I'm partial to the one in my garage, and I would expect a similar answer from you.

I agree. And like I said way at the beginning of this thread, just another opportunity for everyone to say what's in their garage is the best - most desireable - color.

Basically, in summary, a pointless mission.
