I'm having stripes painted on my '99 GTS. It is silver and I'm looking to duplicate the factory striping for this particular car. I'm pretty sure the factory color used was Sapphire Blue. Does any one know the code?. Can anyone verify the correct size and placement for the stripes? Are they 8" stripes, 3" apart (1.5" from center on each side)? Thanks.

The silver and blue that was factory....it looks like 96/97 Viper blue to me, not sapphire.

"...Chuck Tator Thinks the blue is lighter than the 96/97 blue".

I agree...as Bill Pemberton told me the same thing in Dec. of 2000 as we placed an order for a 2001 Race Yellow GTS that Wife wanted Woodhouse to paint with blue stripes.
The original plan was to match the blue stripes on her Silver 99 ACR...but, ultimate decision was to use the Viper blue like on our 97 blue/white GTS.

Wife just confirmed that my memory is correct...and, of course, "that anyone can see the difference" between the two hues of blue (as you are guessing...I can't tell the difference, and really don't care quite as much ) :)

I looked for the paint codes, but so far, have not found the codes for the factory 99 blue stripes.

Try Chuck or Bill.

Chuck at Tator has told me he would get the correct paint code if someone would send him a VIN from a factory striped car. Anyone have a VIN to loan?

Speedracer,

I talked to your Dad this past weekend. Nice guy! Sounds like you guys are having fun with the Mitsu cars too. I have a factory silver / blue 99' and gave him my VIN as well.

Good luck "over there" and enjoy your car when you get back!

Good call. The paint is a little light on the blue stripes on the silver cars. If you got the VIN, any Dodge dealership can match the paint for you! Oh and nice choice to paint stripes on it! The silver/blue look stunning!
