So I've read for a while about how much better the Gen 4 handled, and how great the PS2's were.....yada yada yada.

I thought, sure they're probably a little better, but a tire can only do so much, right? Was I ever wrong. I'm positively gushing here. I can't believe the difference. It's like strapping in a fully functional suspension into my proverbial pavement-roller Gen 3.

I needed less than a mile on the road to notice the difference. There are a lot of frost heaves here, and with the run-flats the car would clop and bang over every one. Now I hardly even notice them. Even the GF noticed the difference.

My car now handles like a proper automobile! I can't believe it. It should be mandatory that every car that goes in for a service comes out with PS2's. I'd bet if the owner took it around the block, he'd gladly pay for them.

The reason I'm writing this is for all you guys that thought like me. Get the PS2's guys, you'll love 'em. It's like a whole new car, one where the suspension works!

A thread is only as good as the pics sometimes, my new PS2's on H-Spokes:D

No low profile jack.....no problem.

One 2X4 and 5 minutes....instant ramp. By the way, with the front tire on the ramp I could get the jack under the rear jack point as well. Easy as pie.

That's the first thing I did once I put the break in miles on my 06'! :2tu:
I drove it to TATOR'S DODGE :drive: :drive:and had The Wizard give it a once over with Corsa cat back, S&B Filters, and PS2's from Jon B at PARTSRACK! :headbang:
It is truly a night and day difference.

I agree with the huge difference. I noticed how I would feel every bump and pebble in the road with the run craps. I then bought the PS2's through JonB at partsrack and wow what a difference. Before the wife said how rough it felt on the road and she hated it. She noticed a HUGE difference after the change as it drives much smoother. Best upgrade I have done.

You still feel the ruts a little, but it doesn't follow them all over the place like the runflats.
Got the PS2's mounted on H-Spokes for around 4000 US. At the time our dollar was better. Mark at Woodhouse sometimes has factory takeoffs with PS2's on them, if you just want the tires, then I've heard Jon B at Partsrack has the best prices. But with our dollar as low as it is I'd shop around Calgary to get a feel for the price.:dunno:

Yep, the runflats ***** - since I dont drive my car much I just got a set of Pilot Sport Cup in the same dimensions as the ACR I hope they will work... I have run Cup on several of my Porsches and I really liked them, anyone used them on the road/daily driving on a Viper?

Let me know how your sport cups do with your Paxton and the wheel hop. I am going to change my runflats but havent been able to decide between PS2's or Kumo's. Sport cups is a good idea. Let me know how it does as soon as you can.

Thanks

why not just get a low profile floor jack?

:headbang: That's exactly what I did, and the best one I have come across is the one I purchased from Griots Garage for $315 with a lifetime warranty! :2tu:
It was on sale a few months ago and I can get way underneath the Viper on all sides without any ramps!!

Because some of us have two floor jacks already;), a 3 1/2 ton for the Humvee, and a 2 1/2 for the other vehicles, plus a bike lift for motorcycles and assorted bottle jacks. I'll soon have to buy another shed just for jacking equipment.:lmao:

Despite what some say, there is such a thing as too many tools when you have to struggle for places to put 'em.

I shopped around last week looking for tires. I was origionally looking at getting the Toyo R888 but the prices were the same or more than I was quoted for the PS2. I ended up ordering them from a local tirecraft dealer for $1990.00 plus taxes. so I ordered them an I should have them installed by Friday

That's higher than I'd pay. I'd keep shopping around if I were you. I'd PM Mjorgensen at Woodhouse or JonB at Partsrack about takeoffs.

Two years ago I had the choice of buying two runcraps for the rear of my '05, Viper convert, or buying 4 PS2s as Jon B. recommended. I chose the cheaper route and paid for it when my Viper was totalled due to lack of traction and handling in an emergency evasion move (on an overpass!) as I swerved to avoid a flying a 30 lb toolbox lid which was headed directly at me.

IF I had bought the PS2s I am sure I would have been able to "catch" the car as the rear end came around the third time, but with the runcraps (rears had less than 1K miles on them) gave up on me. Now I do have PS2s, because they came with the '08 GTSblue/white convert. Take my advice, Jon B's advice-and the advice of a whole lot of us in the Viper nation: If you have runcraps get rid of them and get PS2s. You will never regret it!

Fine looking car, is the color pure white or pearlwhite? As i have seen you own a stealth as well. How are you satisfied:drive: about that car?
