That's not it, just don't be a tight ***. If you have the money and want a Viper then buy one and enjoy it. If you are passing up owning the car because of $5-10k you really don't want one you're just be a low balling tight ***. Go buy a vette or Mustang.
Having owned MANY Vipers i dont agree with the above in TODAYS economy 5-10 grand is a nice amount of money.Dodge brought all of this on themselves in releasing that DAMN employee certificate last Jan.In this internet age everyone knows what everybody lse paid and of coarse wants the same deal.

Are you for real!! Tell me you don't shop at walmart for a low price? You never countered an offer on a car or a house. I've owned a Viper since 96 and sold everything I had to get it. No I don't have money to burn like you apparently, I have enough to buy one of the last Vipers if I can get it at a huge discount. And tell me who would offer more that the current market price for a car? You think we're helping Dodge by paying more than market price? This thread started to get feedback on market price, you'd think I was ****** Dodge. God sakes man this is America, a free market and the market dictates the price! Get your head out of the sand or just send me what you think I should pay over market price.

Ya, I'm for real alright. My point is. "Get the best price you can and then buy it". Hell yes I've countered offers. I've done it with the seller not on a forum. Also, if the cost is a stretch for you perhaps in this "current market" you should reconsider the your priorities.

A new orange/black stripes coupe sold at folsom lake dodge recently for $64,995.

One of our VCA members let me know that there was a story behind this car. I don't have the details, but you most often get what you pay for in life.

Case in point. There's a dealer nearby that has a new Venom/white 'vert for a decent price, however when I stopped by the dealership a couple months ago they had it back in the service bay trying their darndest to get it running :crazy2: Maybe a few dozen test drives at their "private drag strip" might have had something to do with it :dunno:

Ya know being in the retail business (motorcycles) I really hate customers like this. You can give them the world but they'll just piss and moan and want more, it's never good enough. I suppose if a dealer offered you a brand new 09 with 0 miles for $65000, you'd probably want a warranty, exhaust, upgraded rims, and service plan for free. Gimmie a break. If a new 09 at 70k isn't good enough, well you shouldn't consider buying the car. They're already saving you a ton of cash and all you want is to **** them for more money off. I don't know what you do for a living but you certainly want to get paid for you job and are not expected to work for free, stop being an penny pinching miser and expect someone else to.

Well then someone is not telling the truth!! According to Bob only two Viper in his inventory and none in the near (and not so near) future coming in! When was the last time Darren actually sold a Viper? Thought it was Bob's territory?

The folks that get more enjoyment [then the car itself] bragging about how little they paid and what schrewd buyers they are are not the folks I care to spend much time with or do any business with. Someone posted her several months ago about their experiances tring to sell a low mile '08 [at a fair price]...they got calls from these low ballers and the first 10 minutes of the conversation he had to listen to the caller tell him what Viper experts they were followed by an offer probably wouldn't buy a used ZO-6. These folks spend most of their idle time pulling wings off flies.

I'm interested in a Gen 4 car, would really like a black 08. Anyone heard of any dealers liquidating inventory cheap!!! ( in the $60s)

You guys sound...ah how shall I say it ?? Maybe butt hurt because you paid more than others for your cars ? Either way it doesn't matter. Pauls question is a very legitimate one. There were a bunch of 08's sold around the 62-63k mark awhile back so what's wrong with looking for a similar price now ? Let me answer....nothing !!
Oh yea, pauls is and has been a good contributor to the site....how about you two ?

Oh yea ... I like the join dates: Nov 2008 and Jan 2009 compared to pauls (and yes a Viper owner back then and now) YEAR 2000 !! How about ****ing off ;)

Amen! Everyone wants a deal!, only an idiot pays up for anything. I recently bought a new 08 convertible for 65k the asking price, so there are deals out there you just have to look.

Get over yourself...The guy's looking for a deal. Nothing wrong with that.

When I was looking to buy 5 months ago I could have got into an 09 Coupe for high 60's.

Black '08 coupe I have seen myself, EP plus rebate, sold to a dealership owner for 57k. Read it and weep, suckas. If the market for my '01 were not even softer, I'd scoop one up in the 60's no problem. Might even consider an ACR, but no one wants my '01 as a trade. It's all trickle down economics, in good and bad times.

Yeah, and when Chrysler drops the Viper because of people like you that want to pay nothing for the car and you guys are ******* and moaning and crying, saying "why did they discontinue the Viper, whaa whaa, whaa" and "how come Chrysler is filing chapter 11?" you'll know why.

The Viper is a performance bargain at 90k new and a steal at 70k new, but still not happy until you squeeze them into non-existence. I purchased my 1st Viper from Bill Pemberton when I was 29. I worked my tail off to save up enough to buy it. Now I had a budget of what I wanted to spend but Bill offered me a 2001 at a fair price, more than I wanted to spend, but I loved THE CAR. I thought to myself, if I wanted a cheap performance car I'd get a Vette or a Mustang or some other car, but this is a Viper and I'm not buying it for the price I'm buying it for the car. I'm sure that Bill made money off of me but thats what's supposed to happen, and ya know what, if I have a problem or question, I know I can call Bill *** he will be glad to help me. If Bill and Woodhouse don't make money, they go out of business and then we lose a valuable asset to the Viper community. Now because of "bargain" shoppers the want everything for nothing, Chrysler is dropping the Viper and going into Chaper 11. Pity.

And 1Tony1, I guess you're one of these guys who feels your post count or join date makes you a big man. Keep livin on the net and get that post count higher internet tough guy.

Every transaction requires a seller and buyer agreement. If the offer to buy is too low, the seller says no and waits for another buyer. If there are no other buyers, then market price is set. This is not rocket science. No fault to someone looking for the best possible deal. If you want artificial pricing, then go live somewhere else.

Chrysler is going into Chapter 11 because buyers demanded low prices that put them out of business??? I think you need to review current market conditions across the board, or maybe at least the concept of supply and demand from one of my high-schooler's basic Econ books. That's the most ******** thing I've ever heard.

Jim, I'll send you a PM when I get home.

Prices on most new cars are low because they made too many of them. Lots are full with back ups in parking lots all over the place.

With the factories now mostly closed down, that backlog will begin to disappear and prices will start to firm up.

People worrying about their jobs do not have buying a new car highest on their priority lists. Basic transportation will do till they feel flush again.

Right now the few Vipers around are being snapped up at pretty good prices. Those waiting for the ever better deals may find themselves with an empty garage.(but money in the bank)

if you want a DODGE VIPER - then buy one now.

Like it or not, things are gonna change. It's not going to be a DODGE for much longer.

Looking for a deal is fine - but don't be surprised if you get caught empty handed when the new Viper is perhaps more "rare" and has a higher sticker price, or, is only built to order and this very little in the way of discounting...

These are excellent times for anyone to be buying a Viper. it's the end of an era. And yes- I fully expect Viper to continue - but it's going to be "different" - even if it's only in nameplate.

Your local dealer ought to be able to run a cross check of dealers with Viper inventory and ones that are losing their franchises. They might dealer trade for you, or help you, or at least give you the contact information so you can contact them directly.

Don't hesitate - these times won't last forever - and this is truly a golden opportunity to buy some of the last DODGE Vipers ever built.

I simply cannot wait to get mine.

Yes!!!

I know where you can find one just like that!

I couldn't tell if it was an 08 or an 09,

but it was black,

Brand new with Low Low miles,

Plastic still on the seats

Low , Low price

Extended Warranty,

A real Steal of a deal!

I saw it at Miracle Motors,

Just take a long drive off a short bridge,

Take the left turn just after you go over the edge of the cliff,

Or just call them at

1-800- yea- RITE

:rolaugh: Thank you I need that today! :rolaugh:

BTW: looking at current online auctions - bids are brining them up to beyond 55k's (not sure what reserve is and where price will end). One close to ending is $72 for SSG so not sure why fire sale would be below that... seems unnecessary.
