'09 VIper Plant Question

Has anyone heard when the viper plant is going to start back up if at all? I know there has been rumors that they would go back into production of the last remaining 09's sometime in the middle of June. I know there are several cars still waiting in all different stages of the process and wanted to know what anyones thoughts are on getting one of the remaining ACR's.

My thoughts are...... that my fingers are crossed that they will start up again. I know that does not sound to professional but all I can get from my dealer is they are supposed to start up middle of June and run all the way through to the end of 09. My big concern is who will Paint them what with Saleen closed? My Dealer feels strongly that they will start building soon. Time will tell. I have an ACR just in D-1 status before they went into chapter 11, but it does have a complete vin: number. Best Regards Jerry

I doubt it. I just dont see how they can with all the economic BS going on right now. I think the Viper is done. I hope Im wrong though.

Would love to see some actual pics of the color combos that made production! Are there any not ordered so far on either the vert or coupe/ACR?

Dodge website only shows a few colors being available for ACR, not white. Anaconda green, Black, Viper Blue, Race Yellow, Viper Red. However, they were still taking builds the whole time the plant was closed, so the whole website may be FOS anyway. I always found it useless expect for daydreaming.

All over Local News this morning in Colorado:

1. Conner Avenue is officially open today for first full day of production.
2. Home of the Viper.
3. First "New" Chrysler plant to open since Chapter 11 Chrysler filing.
4. Chrysler is proud to open it, as the model has experienced a large backlog of orders since Chrysler's court proceeding started.

Wow! Before the news caster could finish, he just smiled and looked in the camera and said, "man I love those cars". Good news for those orders in limbo then. Was waiting for the "Future of Viper" segment, but they did not have one.

A Chrysler white collar type who used to be involved with Viper design, and is still with the company, stopped at my garage sale yesterday. He said there's only two weeks of Viper production scheduled for the rest of the year.

This week and then another 1 week run in August or October, I forget which..

That's interesting. Maybe they are going to make only those orders which are truly sold, and not flood the market and continue to diminish the value for a change.

Automotive News reported total new Viper inventory on June 1st was approximately 100 cars. Retail sales for May were 44, April 29 and March was 42.

If you want a new Viper, get em while you can.
