I used the search button, but did not get the answers I'm looking for.

I know the pins on the Gen 2 Hard Top are shorter than the pins on a Gen 1 Hard Top. I know from experience, since I used to have a Gen 2 soft top that I swapped pins on so it would fit my '94.

Does anyone know where I can get the pins to swap out, so a Gen 2 Hard Top will fit on my Gen 1 (pins are different than the soft top pins)??? I would appreciate any help!:dunno:

Hard tops for '97 and up rt/10's will not work on '92-'96. For the Gen I- I1/2 the leather pad on the sport bar is required to be removed and then I believe you have to screw the top into the sport bar, where as on the Gen II cars you simply put the top on and it snaps onto pins located in the sport bar.

Not true. Swap the pins, it'll go right on. Did it on my 94 for two years.
The highlited quote is true for a gen.1 top on a gen.1 car.

The top fits without removing anything. Same as soft top from same year car. The problem is the front mounting pins on the Gen 2 tops are shorter than the mounting pins on the Gen 1's.

I know the top fits because I have had it on my car. The question is does anyone know where I can get Gen 1 hard top pins to swap out on the Gen 2 hard top?

Try Jon B. @ partsrack or Chuck Tator.

Have any idea how much longer they need to be? Sounds like a pretty easy thing to make if you can't find a supplier but you know the necessary size.
