Anyone has a Striker or any other head and cam package installed in the Gen3? If so what HP gain you have from the package and how much part and labor was it?
Thanks.

From what I was told, they are only worth about 20-30hp on a stock motor but the dividends increase as the other mods do (cam, headers, exhaust and god forbid, boost).

You can't beat the Striker Heads, they are the best cylinder head out there. You do however need the whole package in order to maximize your efforts. Cam, Heads,Rockers, Pushrods, Exhaust and Tune all have to work together in order to get Great results. This also helps Durability!

I already have Corsa track with with high flow cats and I have ECS tuner from DC performance, which I believe can be re-tuned to accept new heads/cams set up.
What kind of HP numbers will the car gain with the Striker's package of heads/cams considering that I already have exhaust and tuning?

I'd be interested to see a dyno of a similar build on a Gen 3 motor-
Stryker or GG heads, cam, headers, hi-flow (or no) cats & mufflers, and a tune. It would be dandy if 600whp were acheivable without getting into the bottom end.

Are these heads generally designed to raise compression?

Dc Performance , Doug Levin, Jeff (Who makes the Strikers) & Dan at Viper Specialty Performance all agread that with the right compression/cam and tune 600RWHP yes RWHP. Is very doable but thats with building the bottom end too and no thats not a stroker motor. I know because im looking into doing this myself.:2tu:

If that's building the bottom...but not a stroker...then what exactly is entailed in building the bottom end? I assume it's replacing the internals to forged...rods, bearings, pistons?

Yes forged everything pistons etc. and a few other odd end items also. Very expensive to get power this way thats the downside!:omg:

True but at least it'll be a somewhat bullet proof motor (good tune) and fun to drive nonetheless! :)

Hm building bottom end? What about simple change of heads and cams? Any idea what HP would that give me on the existing high flow cats, Corsa and tune?
My goal is to have least possible amount of modifications to the engine (well relatively speaking :)). Ease of install and price another two items I am looking for.
I honestly would be happy with the 650HP on the block if the set up is easy to install and reliable.

Striker heads with cam, spacer and the install are going to cost you as much as a Paxton before install and I don't think compression increase on stock internals is suggested. If you want a little more power on your current setup I think have Greg goods port your heads and get a good tune. I suspect Greg could give you some HP numbers on what that would do for you on a stock engine. Hope that helps

With a Gen 2 and the exact same mods as the Gen 3, what could a guy expect for RWHP?

Power under the curve looks good. What did you using for tuning? Stock Computer or add on unit like VEC3 etc.?

What I do not understand is if paxtonized Gen IIIs run 600 rwhp on stock bottom ends, why would you need to build the bottom end to make 600 rwhp. Surely higher boost normally aspirated is easier on the engine that boost?

Why is everyone FIXATED upon DYNO NUMBERS when the ultimate perf test is TRAP SPEED in the quarter mile .

Ps in any Viper if its not trapping 131 plus (SEA LEVEL TRACK ) its not making the power of 600 to the tire no matter WHAT A DYNO SHEET SAYS .

Because the dyno is easy to quantify. If you asked a poor driver how much faster his car was post-mods, it wouldn't be an accurate representation of the benefit of the mod itself. Same driver can haver a better trap speed with a better launch with practice and no mods.
Besides, who cares about quarter mile times when you're driving a car that can corner?:dunno:
