I plan on going. Just trying to figure out flight info and all that good stuff. I'm so lucky to have a very understanding wife. Looks like it will be a blast. The track looks like good fun. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I a hoping that the Omaha crew will caravan as a group possibly renting a motorhome or multi passenger van.

I didn't make it to Detroit, but I am planning to go to Salt Lake this year. I imagine that we will have a caravan from the Pacific Northwest going down. It is about 14 hours from here and as long as the weather behaves it should be a great drive. The track there looks awesome and the race will be great to watch after all the Viper events.

Since you posted this in the VA/MD section, I assume you mean is anybody from OUR area going;).

The answer is YES. I plan on going. Not sure about trailering/shipping the Viper. Looks like a 36 hour drive:crazy2:

No idea what shipping would be but I bet its $$$.

Yes, although I am happy to hear other VCA members are going from other states, I was checking to see which Va/Md guys were going. I may have to go if I pick up my 2010 there.

I originally toyed with the idea of forming a caravan to drive out there, but after mapquesting, I want to wait and see what the shipping charges will be.

I'm 99% certain I'm going to pay for trailering at this point. I'm hoping the negotiations with Reliable go well and they get it into a very attractive price range.

It's 9 months away and I already can't wait. COME ON VOI 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe we can get a deal if we have several of us going? A whole trailer load?:dunno:
The VCA is working with Reliable to do exactly that: Get very good discounts for groups from coast to coast. We are meeting with them in January to see what we can hammer out, but expect double-digit discount percentages... :2tu:

Here are a bunch of our helicopter photos from MMSP Speed GT race May 2007. Archer Won. I included the East and West layouts, and the Interchange shot. And the 4X4 track, and one of the two go-cart tracks. The indoor and sheltered hospitality areas are world-class, and this facility could even host Formula One without too much effort. THANKS CHAD for posting help !

I have used Reliable for a number of cars over the years including this year when I bought 00002. No one does a better job, IMO.

If I go ... I'll drive.... No other way IMO...

I used to ride a motorcycle and learned a long way back that trailering is for pu$$ies....and the vacation is the road!!

I suspect you guys will disagree and it's fine by me....

(Heck, don't know why I'd bother anyway.... I won't be a VCA member by then...)

Anybody want some VOI 4 Posters?

Don't disagree with you, it's a matter of time available for me. Plus I can go a little more nuts on the track since I won't have to worry about driving back. Sent you an email regarding the membership. Hopefully we can keep you around.

I'll take the posters too.:2tu:

Yeah, I know about the time issue... VOI XI is a long way from VA/MD/DC. but I'd be willing to drive it with a few like-minded partners... I doubt I'll find them here!!

Most of the guys on the forums want to show-off those awsome, eye popping garages and cool rides but if it came to sitting in that car for a week or two .... it's "no thanks" I suspect.

Once again, fine by me...

I'll be out there...

Mine has been to Ohio twice, NJ, and all over VA this year. I'm more than willing to make the trip!

If there's a group going, I'm in.

I might be interested in driving out with others. Deciding factor will be the Reliable ship rates. After all I drove the Viper from San Diego to Washington state and then Washington state to Virginia all in less than 4 months time, whats another 5000 miles in around 2.5 weeks....:drive:

We are to assume that these rates WILL include Canadian cities ??

You're right, I doubt there will be a large group from here that wants to drive, just not for the reasons you're implying.

Burning 6 extra days of vacation time so I can sit in a seat watching fields go by 12 hours a day for 3 days straight (each direction) does not appeal to me personally. Yes, there will be fun moments and stories to tell from that journey, but I would prefer to save my time, my car, and my backside for the 4 days of fun at VOI. I know that once I get there, I would not want to get back in my car and would dread the drive home. I'd rather be fresh for the event and enjoy the cruises and track time and know that when VOI is over, I can be home in a few hours.

That said, I drove to VOI-10 and that was a really fun time. We did it in one day and other than enduring the Detroit roads (or lack thereof), we were no worse for the wear.

One day = do-able
Three days = not for me

Doesn't make me a garage queen, just not a fan of 36 hour commutes.
