My 2002 with a Paxton runs a little rich and the exhaust is putting a black stain on the rear bumper. My question is, I can rub the bumper hard and the black will come off but will this hurt my paint? I was going to rub it off then add some wax to it but if it's going to hurt the paint then I do not want to do it. I am just using car wash soap.

Sounds good. I can not go back now as there is a nice bright red mark after rubbing it with black all around it! ha Might be a long night...

I rub mine off every wash. I use McGuires clear coat polish (or something like that) with a washing mitt so I get a lot of wash water with it...cuts the grit and lubricates the goo. Basically you need a light petrolium distillate to cut the soot. Trick is to not actually ********* the clear coat and just loosen up the soot. Bug and tar remover works too.
