Auto Trader and Cars.com are good sources to check for current prices. They have lots of Vipers listed and actually, that is how I found mine. Agree that current prices for a nice Gen II seem to be running in the $30's for the most part. IMO, that would put a clean Gen I more in the $20's.

There's a black 94 on ebay active listings with 135 miles... Let's see where the bidding goes on that...

My understanding is this guy bought the car for $17,000 to help a friend of his pay off lawyers in a divorce. The friend was supposed to buy back and never did. This guy has no use for the car and wants to sell. I will meet with him Friday and check the car out.
I checked with Chuck Tator and he informed me what to look for on the head gaskets.
Also I found out where the original owner always took car for service. So I will go to that dealership with VIN and check. I hope to give him his $17,000 back and a little interest. I'll let you know.

If the headgaskets are done and depending on condition, $28K-$34K

99R/T is correct. The answer is....

....

...$29,500....but in this economy.......

zero.......nothing is worth nothing when we are in the WORST recession WORLD WIDE ever..

how much were Duesenbergs and Pierce Arrows worth in the 30's and the 40's?? and what were the worth in the 90's eh?

but I'll tell you this....NO ONE will be making 8 liter engine cars 5 years from now....even if they could or want to ....regs will not allow it.....

So....who cares if a Viper costs $23k or $39k ...

This is it folks:drive:

Well its over. I was supposed to meet with him tomorrow and see the car. I just got off the phone with him and he decided to keep it to give to his Nephew as an incentive to graduate from college with honors. My friend was the one that was going to buy it if we would have gotten the deal. Maybe the guy read this board and seen what we were going to try to buy it for. He didn't come across as to know much about Vipers or this board. Oh well thanks for all the input.
