OK another question, where did you put the GPS antena and also the CD/DVD changer?
My stuff arrived this morning but I have no installation instructions or user guide :( So Ive a whole bunch of wires with no idea where they go  (apart from in the car somewhere) :D

I have an AVIC N-1 and was able to stick my GPS antenna under the dash. Out of sight, and still gets fine sat. connectivity. Got the idea from someone else on this board who had the same unit. I mounted the navi box under the drivers seat.

IPods don't play DVDs do they? Also the mapping is on a DVD/ CD disc so I guess you have to have a changer of some sort with this system.

Now Ive missed a generation or two but I have over the years bought one or two CDs, but I used to buy all my music on vinyl in the 80s / early 90,s When the music industry stopped producing Vinyl they lost me as a customer and Ive never really been back :(

I do not own a IPOD or an MP3 player, Ive seen people using them but don't understand how you get the tunes on the things, they say you have to download music onto them from a computer but is this free? I don't like the idea of having to pay again after I've bought the vinyl originally, How long dose it take? Is it possible to play my vinyl then somehow copy it onto an IPod? :( They just look a bit like my old Sony Walkman cassette player :D Sorry to say I don't know much about this stuff :(
There is a websight called Limewire that you can download music and video for free! Takes a little set up time (15 min.) to download the program but it's worth it. Then you can download it onto an Ipod or Zune mp3 player. If I can do it, anybody can!!! :D

Thanks HHI VIPER Sounds good I will check that out :2tu:

GOT VNUM You mentioned you put the Sat Nav antenna under the dash, Exactly where did you mount it, what did you use to fix it in place?

I'm also still looking for a place to mount the rear view camera,
does any one have pics of their set up?

The reason I wanted a unit like this is that I'm taking the car to Le mans in June and I plan to use the back roads most of the way there, that's when I hope the Sat Nav will kick in ;) The tunes and the DVD side of this system should keep my 14yr old son happy ;)

As for me, I'm going with a full cat delete and the window down :D

Sorry, I don't remember exactly where under the dash, this was almost 5 years ago. I think its somewhere near the middle of the dash close to the windshield. My GPS antenna had an adhesive back coating, that's still holding on.

? Who bothers to listen to a radio or whatever in a Viper? I listen to the music of engine, exhaust, gears, tires etc.I check the radio once per year to see if it actualy works. Some people seem to prefer a rolling boom box to an automobile. To each his own.Maybe I should check the radio.I don't think I've tried it out this year to make sure its still there and works. GTS Bruce

Exactly what I was thinking. One of these days I might reinstall mine.
On another note if I was into stereo's I would want that installation very nice!

I have a flip out tv and it is about 2" longer than the stock head unit. It doesn't look like it is going to fit once I hookup all the wires? Has anyone else had this problem?
