Just saw this on the main page of Yahoo.com today..

No big surprise that sports cars cost more to insure, but I was just wondering if insurance is really this expensive for anyone with a relatively clean driving record? I am 32 with no accident / ticket record but I only pay $1900 a year to insure ALL 3 of our model year 2008 cars INCLUDING my 2008 SSG SRT-10 Viper with Liberty Mutual.

Anyway...just excited to see the Dodge Viper on the front page of Yahoo...perhaps for better reasons next time! :)

My daughter's Mini Cooper cost me twice as much in insurance as the Viper.

Just avoid USAA if you ever have a car claim and the car was even near a track OR has mods. I know..........

I start looking for your USAA posts anytime an insurance thread gets started. I have everything but my snakes insured with them due to your experience.

I have USAA....could you point me to that thread?.....I can't find it....

Barry- glad to see you sold the GTS so quickly; looked very very clean!

I'm 39 and GTS was $375/6mo and the SRT-10 $581/6mo

The reason I went with my '99 ACR over an '06 FE coupe was the insurance for the '06 was ~ $1k/year more.

Im 33 with a DUI and no other tickets. My 09 SSG is $640/6months, I thought that was pretty good. I just worry about getting insurance from some fly by night company. Mine is Farmers

We have no competition between insurance agencies here.It is all controlled by the government.I get virtually maximum discount and it still costs me about $3500.00 per year just for my 08 Viper.

I just turned 30 and I pay $832 a year with State Farm. I have always thought that was pretty good.

California is special: we have $1,000 annual vehicle registration; 10% + State Income Tax; and terrible Auto Insurance Rates!

1204.00 per year for 09 SRT-10, 2000 gts and 99 prowler with stated values.
Had to dump USAA because we could also not come to an agreement on the umbrella policy.
