thankfully I was just leaving work and was still in the parking lot when the main upper Driver side radiator hose bursted. What could of caused it? Any recommendation on durable radiator hose to consider so that this episode won't occurred again?

--Coolant started flushing down that hose like crazy...

I'm also curious to where to add coolant? I know for a fact tons of coolant was drained...The coolant bottle on the passenger side is still very full., so where do I pour coolant into to insure that the engine has coolant.

thanks

High quality reinforced silicone Viper radiator hoses with built in bleeder. No more concerns about blowing out the stock radiator hoses on the track, or on the street. These hoses will come in your choice of Red or Black and have a slick finish just like our smooth intake tubes. Direct fit replacement hoses designed to last the life of the vehicle. Comes with 100% stainless steel, shielded hose clamps.

I've seen too many stock radiator hoses blow out and decided to cure it once and for all on the Vipers with the racing industry standard. It's far better to replace the stock hoses with silicone ones BEFORE they blow out, rather than after.

One unique feature we added was the built in air bleed valve in the upper hose at its highest point. We all know how much time and effort it can take to "burp" all the air out of a Viper's coolant system with stock hoses. With our new silicone hoses, that task is easy and takes just minutes.

The hoses are being produced now for all GTS's and 1997 / up RT/10's. Upper and lower silicone radiator hoses with clamps. (GTS's and 1997 / up RT/10's)

Contact us via e-mail or by phone to reserve your set. Will be ready to ship in approximately 2 to 3 weeks and will be kept in stock afterward. www.roeracingonline.com ,

Agree with above...your is hose possibly over 14 years old!!!

I have replaced the all of the "radiator" hoses on our Gen I's and II's with Sean Roe's hoses...generally within first 2-3 years of ownership.

You should check them every few months as they "settle in" for position (mark them on installation to tell if the hose "creeps")...noting that with silicone hoses it is important to avoid over tightening the clamps as they can cut the hose.

I also noticed when the engine is turn on it is not drawing in the coolant from the passenger side coolant bottle, (thus unknown where to pour in coolant) but instead it is pushing its way out of the coolant bottle. The temp is at 190-200. You would think since there is a substantial loss of coolant the engine will draw the coolant in.? just very confused...

fill the bottle, start car and run till the heat/temp guage almost gets to the danger zone,i say about 3/4 way..shut off,let cool, fill and do it again till you get a heater at idle.or get some bleeders in the hoses:)

Have you checked the overflow bottle in the nose...as the hose leading to this is the fill hose. One slips that hose off of the base of the "radiator cap" sitting on the pressure bottle...use a small funnel or turkey baister to get the fluid into the hose.

You need a service manual or Viper tech if you have not done this before.

Call me if you like.

By the way, I'd buy a new "radiator cap" now...might also get a few small hose clamps to fit that small hose discussed alove.

The old bleeder on the hose used to leak. Been there done that....

This new system looks a lot better now.

Mine got a hole on top side and would spray on the engine... I stll haven't gotten it replaced. I tried with OEM hose but whoever is manufacturing them is doing them in a mirror image. It was made like the hose comes from the right instead of the left like it should. I went through 2 hoses and returned them. Chuck also couldn't help me either, I will need to get silicone replacement.

I hit the track and drove 1000 miles with some type of wrap I bought from Lowes for water pipes, sealed it right up... for now. =D

For emergency repairs you could always get one of those corrugated universal hoses at Pep Boys or Autozone. I had one on for about 3 weeks before I replaced it with a silicone one.
