BBS wheels on FE GTS

Finally, I had a chance to install the BBS wheels and did an alignment.
Car feels (and looks) great

even at higher autobahn speeds :drive:

Looks great! I always liked those rims. They are a PITA to keep clean but they looks great.

Love the BBS's. Even on a red car!

Wish the Original owner of my car had not sold them.

On a side note. I did measure the weight and the BBS wheel (rear) is 12 kg only.
The stockers are 16 kg!

Looks great , that car must really stand out amongst all the compacts in the area . Even more so then Vipers stand out here .
Those rims are a bit more effort when its time to clean them but well worth it . They look excellent in pictures but even better in person. My favorite rims on a GTS :2tu:

Got some looks, especially when accelerating out of the tunnels on the autobahn with headers, HF-cats and Corsa cat back :lmao:

My GTS has Forgeline VR1 Billet wheels. I'm sure they weigh less than 10 pounds - they are amazing. Only thing that bothers me about them is that they're polished aluminium with clear coat and can't shine like polished aluminium or Chrome.

But my ACR has chromed BBS wheels and they do look amazing. Notice that Nimpo Lake is still frozen today.

The chrome sure makes them sparkle and much easier to clean. The main thing I did for cleaning was change from EBC Greens to EBC Red pads. The Greens dusted up the wheels first time you touched the brakes.

The Chrome really makes the wheels 'pop'. I was quoted about $100 last year for chroming and may get my VR1s chromed next winter.

Agree and agree! It takes longer to clean those wheels than to clean all the bodypanels, but, they are really great looking wheels!!

They were done when the car was in the USA, I think that the wheels were chromed then black powder coated, the coating was then removed from the rim to reveal the chrome underneath.

from what i remember from a post years ago, chroming the aluminum wheel makes them more brittle or weaker.

Since Chrome plating is essentially an acid type wash, polish, hten electoplate with copper and then chrome with polishing between each coat there should be no difference to the strength of the wheels. The wheels are forged when made.

No heat used.
