Sunday 16th May. The guys at Petrol head Nirvana and the Ferrari club scuderia put together a charity day where people could get to ride in a supercar for 2 laps around the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Airfield in surrey.
There were static car displays, helicopter rides, live bands, motorcycle stunt teams and a whole bunch of supercars. A caterham 7 driving area and various stands offering car detailing and Dyno runs :)

Here are a few pics from the Day.

We raised just over £63,000 IN ONE DAY!!!!
all the monies went to the Children's trust, Tadworth court children's hospital :)

Oh and before 'Mopar Boy' comes along and says Yellow 'IS' Fastest, that yellow car has, yes you guessed it a Roe Supercharger bolted onto the V8 ;) :drive:

One of my runs around the track, I missed 2 gear changes (which is why the Ferrari appears to be pulling away so fast on the back straight).

Have to say I do not like the Viper gear box :(
I have not had time yet to fit my new engine mounts and transmission mounts, I'm hoping that will improve things :eater:

Boiled the brake fluid yet again too :rolleyes: (and it was new fluid).

Nice one Mark - fab photos and great charitable result.
Your next mod needs to be installation of brake cooling - I managed to avoid boiling at my last trackday with only cool air ducts fitted (haven't fitted hub shrouds to direct air yet).

Very cool event. I would like to hop into the F40 for sure!

What did it cost to ride in a super car for 2 laps?

What car was most requested?

How come no one is wearing helmets?

We were not being timed, the idea was to give people a chance to ride in a supercar for 2 laps around the track, There were 2 over taking straights, but when it came to the bends you were supposed not to overtake ;) It was NOT a race so helmets were not required. We were told to limit the speed to about 70mph with kids in the car and Adults at about 90mph. But I don't think anybody remembered that :D All the kids I had in the car wanted to go as fast as possible and I was told in no uncertain terms to catch that Ferrari :D At times I was hitting 3 figures on the back straight and still being overtaken by the Nissan GTRs!

Well you gotta keep the kids happy :drive:

As for price, it was £20.00 for 2 laps in a Supercar and £40 for 2 laps in a Blue ribbon car, which consisted of a Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F40, Aerial Atom, Spiker, Skelta, Lambo Murcielago, AC Cobra, Crossbows and a couple of other cars which escape my memory? The public could chose what Blue ribbon car they wanted to go in but the Supercar rides were done on what ever was available Which was rather a lot of very tasty cars
