I just dug these up. I do prefer the 06 First Edition stripes (I guess I should include the 08 stripes as well), but I can't say I hate them.

Roush coupe. (I dig it)

I always thought the ROUSH stripes looked pretty good. I still do. I remember the intro coupe when it was first shown and didn't care for the stripes but did'nt think they we're overly bad. When the production car came out it was much improved. The 2010 is overly bad. Worse than the pic of the prototype coupe. They are similar, but the pic above still has more focus and design sense. Probably because it fits the old hood better and they didnt have to get all curvy with it.

I'm sorry, I'm just going to have to save this thread with pictures of what these 2010 B/W Viper's should have looked like from the factory. Hope Bill doesn't mind I'm using his photos.

I looked at these photos everyday until my 08 showed up.

Stripes are to wide at the Rear, Also should have kept the stripes out of the vents on the hood. Little narrower on the over all car would have been alot better. Glad I have my F/E Coupe.:D:D
You nailed it. That is fugly! And I guarantee it will look worse in person. I can't fathom what the designers were thinking when they came up with this paint scheme.:dunno: The 96/97 GTS paint scheme is still the quintessential Viper.:2tu:

Had the stripes on my 08 redone to follow the lines of the hood scoop

cant hold back..Those are horrible stripes..

But the reality is that those stripes will likely belong to the last vipers ever made and the fastest vipers ever made (some 17 seconds faster to 200 mph than a 08 or 09)

I could see myself ordering those stripes just for the bragging rights listed above..

Without stripes no one will no your in a 2010..With the stripes..No denying it

Remember when they changed the Chevy Truck body style about 1987 to a new body in 1988 and when they went to the new Dodge truck with the front end everyone thought looked like a 18 wheeler and both times everyone thought they were ugly??? Well, I guess the new style finally grew on people and now they like it. Maybe after awhile it will be the same with the new Vipers stripes. It might be looked at differently after a few are out and people get used to them and the Viper community will like them better. I don't know, just thinking out loud.....:dunno: :omg: :crazy2: :eater:

Honestly not sure how I feel about them. I want to say that they are the ugliest stripes I have ever seen, but in other angles they look okay. I will reserve judgement until I see them in person. What else could they have done? A red, white and blue stripe design like a Challenge Stradale from Viper logo to Viper logo? Wait............................

The front reminds me of GTS-R 001's avatar photo. I always liked the way that looked. Back is kind of wide but I still think I like it. If I only had a job I would trade my 06 FE for an ACR with this paint scheme.

I agree that they look too wide on the 2010 model. But I do also believe that it won't look as harsh on closer color combinations, as it's now more like a two-tone paint rather than traditional stripes.
I also was bothered previously when the rear stripes didn't go through the license plate area, as you also lost the continuity of the stripes then. Especially with the convertible Viper.

Also looks like Alcoa has no idea on how to do a "high polished" finish on their wheels. My 08 wheels are very close to chrome, these aren't even that shiny :(

It's their "dura-brite" coating that's supposed to be resistant to brake dust. I'd rather have the shiny look.

You hit the nail on the head. the newer coating has a different "textured" look... but on the upside, it is MUCH more resistant to scratching, corrosion, etc.

I hate to say this but the only color scheme I like so far is the FEs and the ACR at that.....I would trade my 08 for the 10 FE ACR and that about it. Dodge missed it big time on the stripes.

Admittedly, I was a bit concerned about them looking better then the 06 First Edition...concern alleviated.
